Play.com cancelling pre orders of SE due to no stock? UPDATED

Your going to get the same responce as me.  I ordered mine on the 15th October and got the generic cancellation as a reply.  Check my post on the last page with the hotlink to have a look at it.


NOTE: PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL PLAY.COM IN REGARDS TO YOUR PRE-ORDER AVAILABILITY OF THE SIGNATURE EDITION.  CURRENTLY THEY HAVE THE GAME LISTED AS "SOLD OUT" AND ENQUIRING ABOUT IT WILL RESULT IN THEM CANCELLING THE ORDER FOR YOU!

Damn, it feels lik they cancelled your order, because you showed them how bad their customer service is. I do hope you get your SE Crash, PS, which country are you from, i could look around on the net and see if a site or shop is still offering 100% SE?

I am going to have a talk with the clerk agian, i hope they can give a decent answer, worse case senario, i have to pay extra for the DLC to get Sebastion.

If you call them and ask for a manager Crash then they can put you on to one. They did for me but again that woman was no help either.

I know, its just I would rather speak to a manager who is aware of my complaint already and read the shocking correspondance they sent me!!  That saves so much time and will limit the amount of times I have to explain it too someone new!  I dont expect the first person I talk to to have a clue, but they will point me in the right direction on who to speak to next.

I just dont think theyre going to be paticularly helpful, I had to ask 4 times to talk to the manager on the phone. Although i will be eager to see what they say to you tomorrow.

Yeah, even though "legally" they have to escalate your call if you ask, most CSRs are reluctant to do so, because if they escalate a call, then that hurts their ratio, and most companies will fire a CSR who has to escalate too many calls.

EDIT: Plus, not like CSRs or any phone job knows the laws, I mean for example I live in Kansas, and if I say "No, I am not interested" to a telemarketer, then by Kansas law the call is over.  Yet, many times they go into their rebuttals, which is when I just hang up on them, but I've on occasion pointed out Kansas law to them, but I quit bothering because it doesnt' do any good. Unless I want to get their vendor # and such and actually turn them in, it's no use, and they know I am not going to "take action" on their breaking the law. Kinda the same here, if they don't escalate you, what are you going to do, contact the law and go through all those legal hoops? No, you probably aren't.

I really hope play dont make this any more difficult then it needs to be, but I get the feeling they wont listen or will refuse too.  We will see though.

Spoke with the clerk today, they gave me the manager is busy speech, after waiting for 30 min, the clerk came back on the phone and told me that everyone who pre-ordered after November will not recieve a SE. I have never felt this disappointment  at a retail, i find it stupid of them to not share this information back in December when i pre-ordered it. I had four months the time to find another retailer who could have sold me a SE, but instead they waited 4 months to tell me this and i fear that if i did not call them today, they would have told me this at release date.

They have lost one customer today, been a loyal customer for 5 years, i guess better be disappointed now then later.

I have already pre-ordered at a local store, they told me that there is a chance i will not get my SE version, because i pre-ordered to late at their store, but i guess in this situation a chance of getting the SE is better then none.

I'm beginning to think that EA didnt want that many sig ed's out there, so people will get forced to shell out for the extra content.

I think that sig ed was treated like a CE ed <_<

Play's not replied to my email either =/

Play are refusing to have any further correspondence by email with me, even though all I asked for was a managers name! Is it really that hard to give?! I going to see what I can find out in a few minutes.

Feel sorry for you play guys getting your orders canceled, we who ordered from amazon UK lost a couple items but that's nothing compared to losing your whole Signature Edition. Don't give up yet though, Bioware/EA categorically stated that every order before a certain date would receive the SE of the game, they should be held to this. They can't pull the whole *insert retailer here* opted out card here which basically leaves you without a leg to stand on, you have a good case here to get what you have been promised.

In the end we can blame retailers but all these problems stem from Bioware/EA and the ridiculous and unethical way they went about offering the Signature Edition, all so they could milk a few extra $$$$$$$ on the people who missed out with their day 1 DLC. Personally I think everybody who buys the game new regardless of when deserves to get the extra content, the person who buys the game on release day, his money is worth the same as mine so why is he getting the short straw? Maybe next time they'll reward every single person who buy their games and keep them in business, rather than just a select few, they did it with Shale after all.

This is simply rubbish. I ordered in November. Other people who have had their orders cancelled placed orders in October.

It's obviously quite simple. Whenever you ordered, you needed to order a month before that.

Maybe someone is doing a correspondence course in fobbing customers off.

Okey i just feel sorry for all you people who have been wronged in this. I pre orderd the day before they cut of the offer and my SE is still valid.
I have a few friends who also preorderd just a few days before the offer was gone but all of em are still getting the SE. This is from Sweden and from a few diffrent companies so I dont think you people blameing EA or Bioware for that matter are in the know since this seems more like a single companies scew up then anything else.
 As i said feel sorry for you peeps whos been wronged. If this had been me I'd phone my sister whos a lawyer in these type of cases.

Im on the phone to them now.   On hold.   Call centre in Asia and apparently they have no phone numbers to anyone in the UK for me to speak too!!


Her: "I am unable to answer that sir, thats an issue for head office"

Me: "So can you transfer me there or get someone to call me"

Her: "No sir I cannont do that, we dont have any numbers"

Me: "Of course you have links to your UK headquaters, pop me through because you just told me no one in your office can deal with my issue"

Her: "No I cant do that"
