Why must we Europeans wait three days longer than our North American counterparts?

If the game has gone gold, why can't they just send them out earlier to Europe so everyone can get it on 8/3 instead of 11/3!

Because they are racist.

I don't know, EA pulls this trick all the time. They must have a grudge of some sort.

Good question. I live in London, not Ouagadougou... so i'm failing to see why the game can't be shipped to us at the same time.

Activision manages to get Call of Duty out to everyone on the same day. EA are just as big a publisher, so really should endeavour to give their top titles the same treatment.

Things get released on Tuesdays in America and Fridays in Europe. 'Tis how things are.

I live in London too! Come to think of it, maybe it has something to do with the abominable public transportation here? Whatcha think!?

From what I understand that time period is the normal relase date for the European market.

In North America Tuesday is the normal release window for new items (movies, games, etc) where in Europe it is Thrusday/Friday is the normal release window.

It has nothing to do with EA. Games are always released on Thursdays or Fridays in Europe.

Generally that's true (it was rather insulting when Lionhead released Fable 3 in North America before Europe) but the big games tend to be distributed fairly. Call of Duty and Halo, for example.

No one is racist, no one is being cheap, US release dates are sooner than EU release dates, it's really how the country goes about these rules.

It's simply the European release window that has been established over the last decades.

What kind of irks me, is that everyone prohibits me from "importing digitally" over the internet. That's simply...wrong.

But why it has to be a Friday is still a bit of a mystery to me. It's basically just annoying.

I guess we should be glad the content is at least the same. For Guitar Hero 5 they put the new guitars in the US version and put GH4 guitars in almost all of the boxes sold in Europe.

Tradition. People are used to it.

So...bad (and likely) case scenario is the game will be in my mailbox maybe on Monday or Tuesday (no delivery here in weekends). I'm sure I will not have it 11/3. Excuse me when I go to cry.

True, but I have yet to hear a valid reason for WHY??? Why do 20+ publishers all decide that Europe can only have a game on a friday, what is it some sort of digital sabbath?

What next, "sorry sir, we only sell milk on a wednesday".

Yeah, it's like decades ago, someone said, "it will be like that", and no-one dared challenge that since.

Blame the EU. Not the EA.

Blizzard still do Tuesday releases in Europe, no one seems horrified by it.

How are white Caucasian North Americans any different from white Caucasian Europeans?
I know you're probably kidding, but I wish people would stop throwing that word around like it means nothing.

Take it up with EU retailers who only release new stuff on Thursday of Friday. There's not much EA or BioWare can do about it when retailers stick their hands in their ears and go "Nananana, THURSDAY/FRIDAY ONLY, NONE OF THE FANS ARE COMPLAINING."

On the plus side, many North Americans will have already experienced the game by the time we get our hands on it. It'll be compleley new to us while they're on their second playthrough or have moved on to a new game.

Also, i have to work so i'm not ridiculously cut up over having to wait until Friday night and the weekend.

Because the Alliance of WoW Hordelings would raid the stores in a rare show of cooperation if they didn't.
