EA is a American company so it would make sense we get the game frist  as a person that deals in shiping IE a trucker companys want there product out as fast as they can  so shiping in American will take place starting on the  frist to the  5th of the month as am sure at the same time the games are being ships to you guys as the see fit by other means i hope i have helped in same way:police:

I have a friend who works in Gamestation (large UK games company - in case you couldn't guess) and did a brief stint in one of their warehouses. They said they usually had games in for a week before even despatching to the retail outlets, so I'm guessing time constraints aren't the issue.

:bandit:

As i don't work for EA i was generalizeing as how new products work  when shiping if do out on a date i have been trucking across America for the past 6 years so i should know a thing or two lol

A lot of stores are charging for shelf space nowadays. If you try asking them to do a Tuesday release in Europe, they'll probably charge even more.

Or so I imagine.

The Tuesday and Friday release dates are probably why. Now, why some games are released on other days aka WoW, I am not sure. It's not a big deal anyways. You guys just have to wait like 3 days longer than us. My question is why do games/systems get released in Japan MONTHS ahead of everyone else.

It's japanese companies catering to their home market first and foremost. It's the same way EA caters to the north american market, only japan is more extreme. It's a cultural thing.

But why it has to be a Friday is still a bit of a mystery to me. It's basically just annoying.

I guess we should be glad the content is at least the same. For Guitar Hero 5 they put the new guitars in the US version and put GH4 guitars in almost all of the boxes sold in Europe.

Tradition. People are used to it.

Tradition of getting screwed over ?
Yes in that case Europeons (I know it should be written Europeans) most of the time get the short end.
They get to wait several more days while their US counterpart always get their games before them.
They also get the "honor" of paying more than their US counterpart especially when the Euro is stronger than the US dollar which has been going on for a while.
Sometimes the US collector's version of the game is way better than the Europeans' version.
In some countries there is no multilingual version and if you would like to play the game in the original version (English) you will have to import the game.
Some games don't even get a European release they only get a US release.

I wonder how you would feel if the situation were reversed :)
You having to wait 3 days while others don't have to.
Would you be happy?

Ah I guess you have a point, I would not be happy at all. :(

I cannot believe people would be so hurt about waiting 3 days for a game, but here it is. It's almost pathetic.

I'll be avoiding the forums from March 8th - 11th 'cause of all the spoilers from americans playing through the game and posting threads.

It's annoying.  :pinched:

How many provocative threads do you have to make? Blame the industry in Europe, not anything else.

I feel for ya, I do, but for the mean time at least take solace that one American (me) will be getting this game on the 11th as well, because of the inability to choose day one shipping now after having changed my address.

Then 3 days are irrelevent Sengoku....and if you don't understand that, then you are part of the problem. Doesn't affect me, so whats your problem?

There are many rules, lawes, traditions that don't affect me also, but I accept and agree (and sometimes actively campaign against them) that they are wrong.

Question for you. Why 'should' North America get it before anyone else, regardless of the time frame involved?

There's absolutely no logical reason for it, that's on top of paying more for the same product.

Russalka...typical defiant attitude from you again I see?

It is nothing to do with European industry.....suggest you research things first before opening your mouth and showing your lack of knowledge on the subject.

what is provocative about it?
I personally do not mind the 3 day gap, does not bother me at all. But i do think it is a valid question.
Not provocative at all.

Because our stores stock their shelves before anyone else.

Or are you trying to take a moral imperative angle?

Because they can.

Yes, it sucks, since I'm in this boat. Probably dam post service will delay my game even further...

Because the answer could be found from old topics and it only brings in more insufferable whining.

I thought the product stocking dates being on Thursday was an industry topic. What is it then?

Well I preordered the UK version for digital download. I can DL on the 7th, play on the 9th while official release is supposed to be the 8th for the US and 13th for europe. I don't know what it is all about but I am sure some highly intelligent, highly paid people have strained their brains really hard to come up with it.

Official word on it would be nice?

Taleroth...stock the shelves? Are you being serious or was that some sort of metaphor?

And yes it is morally wrong. It's prejudiced. It's not going to change any time soon, so I guess in the reality of it all this talk is pointless.

But it 'is' just EA saying our home customers can have it first, screw everyone else. Just as another poster pointed out, Japan gets the new Playstation months before anyone else. Keeping your home customers happy.

Yes, I'm being serious.  Our stores stock the shelves normally on Tuesday.  Europe stocks them on Friday.

To get around that usually is more expensive.  Especially since stores are actually selling their shelf space nowadays.
