Why must we Europeans wait three days longer than our North American counterparts?

If the game has gone gold, why can't they just send them out earlier to Europe so everyone can get it on 8/3 instead of 11/3!
It's not a matter of "sending them out".
In North America, all games (and not just ours) are released on Tuesdays. In Europe, they're released on Fridays.
That's simply the way it is.

That's because the EU fears we take the rest of the week off when something as awesome as a bioware game gets released.
They aren't taking any chances

The official release date in Belgium is the 10th, so Thursday. In fact, the store chain I buy from (Game Mania) usually has the game 1-2 days before it. If they get permission from the publishers, they will also release it early. So some games I already had on a Tuesday, while others at the latest I got by Thursday. Rarely or never do I have to wait till Friday.
Edit: This is when I pre-order my game with them.
Belgium should put the sale of DA2 on hold until after the formations. Can garantie you the country would have a goverment on the 11th

Which from what I've noticed, seems to royally annoy the hell out of American players sometimes, so we can't complain I guess, heh. But the way it goes is if the company is situated in America...they get it first, we get it after...if it's made by a Euro company, we'll usually get it before the Americans do...it's just how it is.
In the case of WoW or any other MMO for that matter, they're universal games that have to follow a worldwide release date usually, that's normally why companies like Blizzard release them together, or within hours of each other...though I never understood why the Euro's got it slightly before everyone else, when it's a Canadian-born, now US-run company...but it's not the first time Blizzard has done something that makes you wonder why, we just roll with it.

As some have explained earlier, not all game companies live by that rule. EA/BioWare does. So, there must be more to it than what you wrote.David Gaider wrote...

Well I don't know about Mainland Europe but here in Britain computer games always come out on a Friday. It's the alw.
In America payday is Teusday (or paychecks clear on teusdays) so that's when most games get released over there.
And we get 3 days for them to patch anything bad before we get our hands on a copy.

Now that you mention it almost all the games that have come out here have been on tuesdays... I never connected the dots before.
I still have to ask.
Why?

Blizzard still do Tuesday releases in Europe, no one seems horrified by it.
exactly . It's a pitful excuse to say "thats how its done" . Why not release it in europe the friday before then ? . Woman never used to have the right to vote "thats just how its done" . They obviously consider the NA customer as more important .

Sure Europe has more people but in terms of logistics and distribution I think it is easier to ship everything in one country USA and if Europe was a huge united country I think we could expect them to release on the same day

You are aware that you are, among other things, quoting an official post telling you it's not about shipping?

It's not entirely one-sided either. Being Aussie, I cop the PAL region release date restrictions Europe gets as well, in most cases...which is annoying, but sometimes there's a game out there made by one of the Euro companies...and guess who gets it before the Yanks? We and the Euro people do.

Still it is only a small exception take Ubisoft a French company makers of the Assassin's Creed franchise they still release it to the US first even though they are a European country so.....
