Have they said anything about that? I hope you can level up to at least level 40 in this game. I just like leveling up and getting more powerful, and I felt that only being able to get to like level 23 or 24 in Origins sucked.

You're going to be disappointed. It's expected that players will reach 20.

I heard that it takes longer to level up then from origins. Has this been confirmed?

Yes, levelling up is relevant to the game you're playing. We can't compare it to Origins and say "Awww, only level 20?" That would be irrelevant.

It doesn't matter if there are fewer levels if the effects of leveling up are clearer. Some of the levels you gained in DAO really couldn't be felt. 3 points and a filler talent, big deal.

I think an example of how NOT to do it would be like New Vegas, where you only get a perk every other level. So only every other level is really fun. It's like the level cap isn't really 35 but half of that.

are you freaking serious?!? WTF! the best part of any RPG is the leveling up and Bioware is only allowing you to reach a weak ass level 20?? the effin blows!i mean seriously WTF? oh let me guess here comes everybody defending this now saying "Oh it dont matter hurr derr cuz like if each level you get to pick more stats to upgrade then whats it matter if its 20 levels or 50"?

it matters cuz everytime i gain a level its like a milestone i reached and i feel like i accomplished something and they are only letting me do that 20 times max. thats bull crap.

and i bet all you people out there who are defending this let me guess - would you like an RPG if it only let you level up to say Level 5 and it was a 60 hour game? what would you say then? "Oh it dont matter cuz i like that stuff yay!"

i swear to god i miss the old days in Final Fantasy 3 for super nintendo and you could level up to Level 99 and you could prolly go higher its just that you couldnt only cuz the number couldnt go past 2 digits to 100.
i'm sorry but I like gaining levels its one of the funnest things about RPG's in my mind.
its progression, it feels good. its the idea of accomplishment.

Level 20 is godly in most RPGs and D&D. In origins you maxed out pretty much all abilities by level 21 for a warrior and rogue

well thats even more stupid that they would even say that the cap is 50 getting peoples hopes up like me knowing damn well that you would only ever be able to reach like mid 20's. WTF? WHY EVEN SAY 50 is the cap???? YOU CAN NEVER GET THERE! EVER!

yeah i know and thats one of the things i thought was stupid about Origins and really any other games that only lets you level up to a weak ass Level 20. I say Level 50 at the least. hell Bioware has the nerve to say the cap is 50 knowing you'll never get there anyway.......

It's for expansions. And levelling up is not the point of RPGs. At least it wasn't until MMOs came along and all of a sudden any game with a level-up system became an RPG. Rapid levelling removes all meaning and sense of achievement.

Yea for real, character developement was never a core mechanic. It was always about watching someone elses adventure right?

Technically he should be ranting about the "Level 99" in the demo, which was used as a lock on abilities.

Don't care, more levels to gain = more fun.

Disagree. Dead levels, where little to nothing is gained, is very boring and not fun. So long as leveling up is consistantly meaningful, I'm cool.

Well, yes. I'd also say "hey, that's just like the first BW game I ever played."
