I just started Awakening and my party are around level 24-25 and I'm already experiencing that "godmode" feeling I've heard people mention about Awakening talents and gear. The only things I've done were use legit in game money tricks (buy/sell crafted items etc) for the gear and min/maxed my builds using the legit in game respec tomes.

I'm not using a sword/shield tank, it's simply not required. I am using a spirit healer but to be honest I don't feel that talent tree is needed either the way I'm mowing through things. I'm playing on Nightmare. People solo the game on Nightmare. Does anyone think I need to bother with a spirit healer mage? The reason I ask is because I don't like having 2 mages in a party and I prefer my mages to be damage + CC. Hell, most of my encounters consist of my  2H crit based berserker/champion/SW running into a full pack of mobs while my mage gibs the enemy caster with mana clash. Then I turn on my AoE toggle and watch them all drop. By the time my party catches up to me it's nothing more than "cleanup in aisle 7". Even the last couple of mini-bosses I fought went down in about 5 seconds.

Just test it without... You can always use that item from Herren to remake the characters. I'd always use a healer, even though Awakenings is much easier than Origins... Just down to personal preference
