I posted yesterday (in a rather petulant way) that I was having major troubles on a 2009 laptop which made the demo literally unplayable.  I fixed this, after verifying the demo works on my desktop, so wanted to repost for balance.  Demo looks great now - combat is faster, but still micro-manageable once tactics are disabled.  I don't like the way tab on the battlefield now no longer shows all health (to allow quick selection of next target after a kill), but still...

To fix my laptop I had to use these settings (not the ones that the system scan set up by the way):

- disable anti-aliasing
- use DirectX 9
- disable vertical sync
- 'Medium' setting

This is just Intel onboard GPU and it now looks just fine - not the wonderful shiny gamer's dream but quite playable, which is all I want.

My desktop is 8800GT Intel Core 2 Duo around 2.8GHz oc-ed to >3GHz, and plays better on system scan settings.

Thanks for what looks like a great game but I do think the demo could put some people off due to solvable problems.
