actually if oyu knewLiam, that's pretty regular. Ash is worth it afterall.

well, if you rp your shepard as if they really love this person...

I know I would do a great deal, go through a lot - to keep my husband safe, even if I'm pissed of at him, becasue we just had a huge argument, becasue neither of us communicated well enough to understand each other's point and aren't talking for the moment.

now if your shepard doesn't feel that strongly about VS - then it makes logical sence to sacrifice few for the good of many, but if you RP your Shepard as deeply in love?  yeah...

I'm pretty sure no girlfriend is good enough to murder twelve people, especially if those twelve trust you with their lives.

That'd be like if I killed my mom, dad, brother, four best friends, roommate, three cousins, and favorite professor just for my boyfriend.  No matter how close we were, no matter how much I loved him, no matter how estranged from my family I was, I'd never even consider doing that.

in a heartbeat.  he's worth more to me then anyone else on this green earth.  I'll go as far as to say that I'd chose him over anyone's life, including my own.

it would hurt like hell and I'll be an emotional wreck after it for a while, but yes, I'd do it.  I wouldn't have married him, if I didn't love him that much. 
Granted - I'd do everything I could and then some before I'd go for a choice like that (last resorts are called last resorts for a reason)

And this is why I said in my original reply, that if the upcoming DLC is going to have a set up like that (or if ME3 comes with these conditions)  I'm simply not buying it.  I'd rather not kill people close to me, fictional or otherwise unless I have no other choice.

edited to add:  just giving a slightly different perspective of why someone might chose one person over many

he'd do the same for me.  take it as you will.

and this would be why I'm not a savior of the galaxy, or a cop or anything else like that - I know I won't put duty before love, so I don't put myself into situations where I'd have to.  games are...games, not real.  but when they create characters that you cannot just discard as piles of pixels?  well then, I'll just go ahead and spoil the plot for myself and avoid buying it if the game makes me make a choice I'd rather not make (when it comes to ME1 - I didn't even start roleplaying untill my second play through,  and at that point even despite virmire I liked the franchise too much)

Ok, so while I voted... that I would throw everyone under the bus....



realistically, it would go more like this.... My Ash romancing Shepard would leave garrus in charge of the getting the hell out of dodge team and he would take anyone who volunteered with him to save the VS and whoever else was in danger.



However, the OP says that you would have to sacrifice squadmates.... so, if I had to do it that way.... anyone it took to get Ash back.

And very tame condidering what I really think. But what this thread is asking me is would you possibly let up to twelve crew members you do not like ,that are in a game you don't like,die to save the one character you do like. Well yes I would. I wouldn't even need to think about it.

If you hate your ME2 squaddies that much why even play ME2? How on earth do you people think so much of the VS?  just 1 mass effect 2 squaddie has more depth than both kaidan and ashley combined.  Of course most of ME2 was based on character development, so the VS is already at a disadvantage.  Maybe if the developers had put as much time into kaiden/ashley as they did into just 1 ME2 squadmate, it would be different.
as it is, there's just more to like about the ME2 squadmates, and not enough with kaiden and ashley.
I suppose if the VS was the perfect creation of the type of character you like, but it's illogical to say there's more to like about kaiden/ashley than there is about the ME2 cast.  The entire point of the ME2 cast was in depth charcter development.  I'm not saying ME2 had a better story, we can all agree ME1's was better.  But  ME2 was all about character development!

The problem with this idea is that some people might just really hate the ME2 squadmates, and might kill off 2-3 if the choice was "kill off 2-3 or have nothing happen".
