If I am forced to choose (like @ Virmire), Zaeed will be my first option with my promise to get his revenge done. VS means alot and possibly would be a great help when the final battle come.

Wouldn't sacrifice a single one of them for Kaiden.
Kaiden was supposed to be my right hand man. I could understand him not wanting to join my crew because of Cerberus, but I would have expected a little bit less **** from him.
On top of that, it seemed to me that he sold Shepard out in exchange for a promotion. Why is it that an Alliance engineer would sacrifice his career defending your position on the Reapers, but the one guy who helped you FIGHT them didn't say a damn thing?
1. neither Ash nor Kaidan got promoted in order to stop them from investigating reapers etc - its something that their detractors like to imagine, to justify the hate.
2. how do you know they didn't say anyhting. why is Virmire survivor's position so classified. why are they in Terminus systems. are they investigating the dissapearing colonies for fun?
3. what alliance engineer?

If it were Kaidan, I would have a second thought about it, but since in my game it's Ashley... "This is it, Williams. I've been sick of looking at your pink armor anyway."Hyper_gateway wrote...

Hey, Zulu. What about you? You haven't said anything on your question? (or did I miss it?)

Ken Donelly wasn't working behind the scenes with Anderson, not to mention, Ken Donelly didn't have the same ingrained loyalty to the alliance (with both Kaidan and Ashley - its pretty much a family tradition)
there's a lot we're not seeing here..yet, is all I'm saying.

Kaidan, really? he got a family? Here I thought he joined up because regular folks didn't like biotics, while the military valued them.jeweledleah wrote...

Not questioning his loyalty though. In fact, I think, it's stronger than that of Ashley (or Anderson, for t hat matter).

the very first conversation you have with him (not counting the one in medibay), he tells you that his father served and was proud when Kaidan enlisted..eventualy. well that and the whole might as well get payed if you are being watched anyway. his family lives in Canada. One of his cousins has a farm or something like that.
I won't claim which one is more loyal then the other, but pretty sure they are all very much loyal to alliance, they are career military - its not just something they did becasue benefits were nice, heck Anderson is one of the first N7's. from what I understood when talking to Anderson on Citadel, he definitely believes in Reapers, but wasn't able to push it through to people who weren't there, so he's chosen to work behind the scenes instead. bear in mind, I haven't actualy read any of the books or comics, I'm going by information in game only.

None, VS is irrelevant.
I will do everything EXCEPT sacrifice crew members.
Unnamed redshirts are fulfilling their function by dying, so no again.
And i will probably not make the Achievement if it is too out of my play style.
EDIT: Humm.. Seems like whole DLC will be irrelevant to me if it is VS centered. Good to know.

Could it be that he only tells about his family to FemShep? Because I swear I never heard that. Only about his cousin, who he mentions after Feros.jeweledleah wrote...

I believe, if Kaidan ever became disenchanted about the Alliance, he would simply resign and walk away, but would never sell it out to the Turians, like Anderson did in Retribution. Both Anderson and Ashley are a bit too self-righteous, and happy to go way over their heads. Kaidan seems to have more respect towards how the Galaxy works. Perhaps, that's just because he has been closer to the "dark side" of the Alliance (which also prevented him from imagining it to be what it never intended to be, and therefore made him less susceptible to frustration and disenchantment).jeweledleah wrote...

This, however, might also be my impression due to playing ManShep only. I can loosely remember hearing that if you play as FemShep, it's Kaidan who accuses Udina of backstabbing, etc.

I think that one of the great things about the VS for me is that on the one hand I like Ash and I'd go through hell and back with her, but on the other hand we both share the mindset that the mission is more important.

And it utterly failed. Even if "tell Sheppy about your daddy issues then succumb to his talk-jutsu-indoctrination" can pass for "character development", only Mordin can rival Ashley or Kaidan. They were indeed very developed characters. For example, Ashley:
- Biography: Alliance Marine, blacklisted despite all her best scores
- Family issues (a whole bunch of them, and receiving a whole new angle these days)
- "Racism"
- Hate of Cerberus
- Religious beliefs
- Poetry
That's at least six characteristics, while most ME2 squadmates have no more than two or three.
This.
Plus
-Ash neither asks for nor expects help in her personal problems. She likes who she is and solves her problems on her own.
My favorite Ash line
"......this is who I am Shepard, I like her and you better like her too...."
I was like![]()
I love that line!!! <3

I dont think we will have to sacrifice anyone, I dont see why Bioware would give a option for the VS to sacrifice themselves (again) after they said the reason the VS wasn't in ME2 was becuase they are needed for ME3.
I agree.
It would be a bit odd to have the VS involved in another scenario where Shep has to decide on whether or not they sacrifice themselves. I'm all for a similar scenario or two in ME3, but it should involve other characters, like Garrus, Wrex or Tali.

I'd roll over in my grave if Ashley or Kaiden took over my squad.
Who would you rather take over the squad? Miranda? Jacob? Because they would put TIM in power after the attack on Earth. And everyother squadmate would help their home worlds before saving Earth. And if you think I am wrong esplain it to me. Ash or Kaidan would risk it all to save Earth.
Garrus would take over the team! Kaidan died on Virmire, Ashley yelled at me... Garrus at least was happy to see me when I met up with him!
and in all of my playthroughs he has been my favourite, he cares a LOT for me, and he would continue my war and he would save earth, he has learnt a lot about Humanity in his time serving me... and I approve of this message!
also, I'm possibly one of the few to say this... but I am not a Pro-Human player... I think we humans are a flawed race, Asarians, Turians, and even the Quarians have achieved more than we Humans have... Cerberus is a [beep] company, and the Alliance are a bunch of cowards...
GO TURIANS!
