I looked at the sidebar, which lists the top 15. I see which one you're referring to now.

Pretty sure mine will drop off soon enough, but I would like the added feedback either way.

You'd be surprised how many people ignore the description entirely or forget it, and then complain about the very features you advertised as being a unique part of the experience.

"Involves tactical combat; you won't be able to just out heal all combats.", my warning

quickly becomes "combat was too tough in spots" , someones comments.

I've also heard peopl thank the refreshing challenge level, and people who welcomed the variety of unique low level
quests that don't involve cellar rats. Then people complain that the beginning is boring (assuming because it isn't combat all the time).

starting to think I have overestimated a lot of players interest in strategy or non-linear game play, also getting complaints that certain quests are too hard at level x, when there is nothing forcing you to do them until you are level y. Which tells me people expect everything to be placed in order rather than have the freedom to take a tough quest now for high reward, or do the easy ones first. I understand linearity has been the token of player campaigns so far, but that was something I attempted to break out of. It was more work, but if it doesnt translate to more fun I should not have done it.

So in short ya I would like to see some more votage and people put this thing out of its misery if its really too different than what you expect from a campaign. Or vote accordingly if you welcome the difference. Right now I'm not sure if its hit or miss, need more feedbacks.

Already voted on them, except White Plume which I haven't played yet, and PoE which I want to replay first when I feel like bringing another character all the way through because my getting the crown pieces out of order on my first going seems to have messed part of the later content (Ekathys/Stronghold) veeeeeery badly.

I replied to your comment at the Vault, so I won't repeat everything here. Personally, I think it's hard at some spots (not necessarily good or bad), but I also welcome the change.

At the beginning you're basically an errand boy, that's why some people find it boring. I don't think it has anything to do with freedom. The thing is that the end of the errands and the lineality both come at the same moment.

Islander isn't like most other modules, so there will always be love, hate, and the middle road. No one can question the quality of the module, but gameplay issues are subject to personal preferences.

And back to topic, I intend to play LoWPM and all PJ's modules soon. I've played the others already, though I think I forgot to vote some of them.

I just dont know where the line of helpful becomes insulting.

I warn players to expect changes, do it a 2nd time in game, and I place items in ridiculously close proximity to where they are used. But some people still wont use them.

Some may actually need me to say "Ok when you are faced with 4 guys shooting fireballs at you, and there is a resist energy wand 10 feet before them, do use it." Maybe they just aren't as familiar with D&D in general. Or maybe just too used to how easy and non tactical the OC is. But if I were to give that blatant of advice to those that are familiar with the tactics, they would think "ya thanks im not an idiot." So again I don't know where helpful and insulting crosses over.

Comments lead me to believe those who enjoyed BG2 enjoyed my campaign the most, and had the least issue digesting the concept in general, and the combat tactics. One person quoted that the tactical battles reminded him of BG2. Its uncanny when someone experiences exactly what you set out for. So... everyone go play BG2 and get back to me.

@EE, I had the same problem with MinD, you be amazed how many players just want to be able to mindlessly tank through a game and get annoyed when they have to strategize or think.

Don't sweat it EE. I heard a quote sometime long ago that said, "5% of the population thinks well and actually enjoys it, engaging in it regularly. 15% of the population can think if they have to, but avoid it if possible. The remainder would rather die than think!" (It's paraphrased, but it's held me in good stead and reduced my stress over some of things I have seen over time.)

If you can make a module that satisfies the ones who think it should be easy with no thinking, then you've got a McModule.

Seconded.

On that note, I should get around to playing some of the more recent mods. I could help break the ties!

one man's claim that 'this is strategic combat' is another man's 'I just suck at balancing encounters'...

I've said it before about choice and non-linearity not being all its cracked up to be (in terms of player bang-for-buck). Now companies can track the choices players make in games, the stats bear it out.

A.) It's in ravenloft, I absolutely detest that setting because the plot is always the same, more or less. Why we have so many ravenloft modules baffles me.

B.) I actually played it, the combat was just too easy, even on the hardest difficulty setting. It takes away the "survival" out of survival horror.

Area design was marvelous though.

Because not everyone detests it. I'd like to see more Ravenloft modules.

Edit: Yes, I know, toolset is waiting for me too.:P

There's a survival horror module for NWN1. I haven't played, but you may try it if you have that game.

If the toolset is waiting for you.... Join the community project. There is plenty to do and even more people to help to you.
Join in and there will be something for you to help with.

As for the origininal post I have completed 2 of the 5 modules and have games started in 2 other ones. They are all good and would recommend them to everyone, though I am a bit partial to one of them.

Though I would still strongly recommend people downloading and playing Risen Hero.

I have indeed played survival horror modules for NWN1, my favorite is The Journey Unknown. It's just that NWN1 starts to feel rather old, and unlike the old infinity games, it doesn't stand the test of time as well due to it's 3D graphics (although I completely forgive this for best-games-ever like System Shock 2 and Deus Ex), whereas infinity games still look awesome, all you need to do is slap on the wide resolution patch.

Also I just love/hate outdoor areas in NWN2. I hate building them, but I love watching well made exterior areas.

I'd join and do a little module, but I know nothing about the toolset. Is there any tutorial out there, NWN2 Toolset for Dummies or the like?

I'm not saying I'm going to build a module, but I could try it someday.
