I have a serious question (if those are allowed...?), is the dominant personality based on a single tone that you choose. For instance, picking humour regularly = humorous personality, or do they combine? For instance, aggressive and angry often appears as the bottom choice along with firm and serious, so would those two combine to form a dominant personality.
So basically, is it based on the individual tone indicator, or the top/middle/bottom placement on the dialogue wheel?
Well, first off, serious questions are allowed, Stanley's actually answered 2 of mine already...they're just not as fun... But anyways, I was a bit confused by your question, what "dominant personality" are you referring to? Just like every other Bioware game there are blanket quotes that are said by Hawke regardless of what you choose and then there are the statements that are the direct result of you choosing a response from the dialogue wheel.
It sounds as if you think that by choosing certain dialogue responses, you're actually creating a personality for your character, which they will then use after you log out when they stroll to the nearest tavern and either A) help inebriated patrons back to their homes,

get drunk and start joking with the locals, or C) walk up to the nearest dwarf and kick him in the nads.
EDIT: After considering the above paragraph I was thinking how awesome(?) it would be to come back to your character after being away for a day, only to discover that you now had to deal with all this s*** your character had gotten himself into while you were away....or maybe MMOs already do this?
EDIT2: Assuming that your choices in the dialogue wheel DID form a "dominant personality", what kind of personality would result from alternately choosing between "good" and "evil" responses? Severe bipolar disorder? Perhaps a character that would bring cookies on a hot plate to the tavern and then bash the first patron in the face with said hot plate?
