I got one question.

What happen to the city elf mother? I mean, How did she died, why did she died? I don't care about nothing else. I just want to know what happen to that woman.

I'm pretty sure you find out she was killed (by those dirty humans) when talking to your father in the beginning of the origin story.

That the problem.

Why, was she killed?

Because she stole something? Insulted Vaugh? Beaten a Guard in a duel?

Why did she died?

 Question about Personality:

I beleive it was Mr. Gaider who wrote that, like in Mass Effect, depending on if we're Paragon or Renegade (what do you call them in DA2, by the by?), we'll unlock special/unique options in dialogue, sort of like Persuades in some cases (such as the Jack/Miranda fight). So, if we choose Snarky though most of the game, will we also get those new dialogue options, unlike with ME's neutral?

It was the weekend! And despite Stanley's awesomeness, I think he can still technically label replying to forum questions as "work", so why do it when he isn't getting paid for it?

That said, I have a bit of a technical question...in the graphics options you can either choose a DX9 or a DX11 renderer...I know DX11 doesn't work in the demo but I assume the same options will be int he full game...so did the devs just skip DX10 entirely, or did they just forget about it for the demo?

Yes, some dialogue options will only appear if the player has chosen a certain "personality" of response for the last 5 or 6 responses.

A wizard did it.

Yes. The questions were just getting a little ridiculous and spammy. Also, the weekend happened.

If I remember my very limited technical knowledge correctly, wasn't DX10 primarily a Vista thing? I don't think we did a whole lot with Vista, which might be why you don't see much DX10 stuff.

IMPORTANT QUESTION...s!
in DA O and DA O: A, you play as the warden/warden commander and in DA II you play as hawk. if you just the import from another module method all the way, what is the DA team's plan for DA III? will you:
1) continue on only one of you characters?
2) the story is building up to an end and the warden and hawk meets and you play them both?
3) make a totally new character so that you end up with 3 diffrent character in the same import file, and never really make a conclusion for any of them so when you start making DA VI?... you hope we have forgotten about the warden and hawk?
4) through all the games of DA you create dozens of characters and in the final game they meet for an armageddon?
5) you suddenly end the DA series, lock the BW buildning and never again speak to da outside world?
6) you leave it up to the modders to decide the fate of thedas, so that the player/modder can do what ever they want (dragon age X?)?
7) none of the above?
8) none of the belove?
9) all of the above?

I have a serious question (if those are allowed...?), is the dominant personality based on a single tone that you choose. For instance, picking humour regularly = humorous personality, or do they combine? For instance, aggressive and angry often appears as the bottom choice along with firm and serious, so would those two combine to form a dominant personality.
So basically, is it based on the individual tone indicator, or the top/middle/bottom placement on the dialogue wheel?

Well, first off, serious questions are allowed, Stanley's actually answered 2 of mine already...they're just not as fun... But anyways, I was a bit confused by your question, what "dominant personality" are you referring to? Just like every other Bioware game there are blanket quotes that are said by Hawke regardless of what you choose and then there are the statements that are the direct result of you choosing a response from the dialogue wheel.

It sounds as if you think that by choosing certain dialogue responses, you're actually creating a personality for your character, which they will then use after you log out when they stroll to the nearest tavern and either A) help inebriated patrons back to their homes, B) get drunk and start joking with the locals, or C) walk up to the nearest dwarf and kick him in the nads.

EDIT: After considering the above paragraph I was thinking how awesome(?) it would be to come back to your character after being away for a day, only to discover that you now had to deal with all this s*** your character had gotten himself into while you were away....or maybe MMOs already do this?

EDIT2: Assuming that your choices in the dialogue wheel DID form a "dominant personality", what kind of personality would result from alternately choosing between "good" and "evil" responses? Severe bipolar disorder? Perhaps a character that would bring cookies on a hot plate to the tavern and then bash the first patron in the face with said hot plate?

It is based on the tone indicator, and the last few choices made by the player. If you have chosen a humourous response for the last few conversation choices, then any "humourous personality" exclusive dialogue options will appear. These do not appear in every conversation, nor is every personality represented equally. If you try to "combine" personalities, you will essentially lose them, since you're not making consecutive choices of a particular personality.

@bikeracer4487:
Our conversation system recognizes how often you've picked a certain response tone. If you've chosen the "humourous" response more than a few times in a row, Hawke is considered to have a "humourous personality." In certain dialogues, Hawkes who have a "humourous personality" will have a special, exclusive dialogue option that reflects that personality. It's like an easter egg. these special, exclusive dialogue options are not plot-critical; they are an extra bit of fun and roleplaying for players.
