Since you seem to be in a particularly good mood, feel like sending me a copy of DA2?

Nope, not even a little bit. :P

Which was first, Bethany or Carver?
Good question.
Can nugs swim?
I threw a couple dozen nugs into the lake once. Some of them didn't make it, some of them stole my boat, and some of them turned into sharks, so I would have to say it's... inconclusive...

Is there a reason why when selecting a tactics default like 'tank' or
'healer', it isn't a drop-down list but is just a left/right arrow
thing? Why make something so much harder to use for no reason?
I dunno, you'd have to ask the GUI artists and the designers.

Yes! no! Maybe! I mean, shut up! I'm, er, holding them for a... friend... or something... shut up!

Could you please change Hawke's Mage Armor to a pink dress?
No. Draw your own fanart! :P

Is it true that Hawke lives with his mother?
Yes and no.
yolojo wrote...
what replaced it for the
warrior hybrid abilities? Force mage?
I don't think anything replaced it. the leapy-smashy ability is probably the warrior's Mighty Blow animation.

I got a question. I do not know if this was answered. Where is Hawke getting his arrows from in the dem? Is he even shooting arrows? Where is his quiver? lol :)

There's a dimensional rift in Des Moines that we tapped into that happened to be full of arrows. it's the same place where Hank gets his energy arrows from in the Dungeons & Dragons cartoon.

What would happen if we imported our saves where we played as an dual
wield warrior. Would we see the warden (in DA2) as a dual wilder or
what? :D

Since you'e not playing your DAO Warden in Dragon Age II, your choice of weapon in the first game is irrelevant to what weapons Hawke uses.

Hmm...can you give me a rough estimate on how often things like this might occur?

I dunno, some... ish, maybe more, maybe less?

No, no I didn't mean that we play him, I was wondering how would Hawk (and other pople from da2) "see" him? Because dual wield warriors don't exist in DA2... Or do they but only in Ferelden? XD

I think you should stop reading so much gameplay into the story/lore.

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused. The Hawke in those trailers was a mage,
he leapt up in the air with the Staff of Parthalan and smashed down at
his enemies (Champion trailer and he did this in the Destiny trailer
too)...so the one who made the trailer decided to mix the animations up
for the cool effect? What I gather from your reply is that the mage
CANNOT do this in the actual game?

Right, i think you should stop reading so much into a trailer.

Trailers are a way to give people an idea of what your game is like, and if you made it like I can perform certain stunts in the trailer but in fact I can't in the actual game...that is a bit upsetting (champion trailer was all in-game too, so I thought it was probably a showcase of gameplay skills). It would be even more upsetting if I can't learn that summon-demon-hand-rip ogre's body spell, and it was just me reading too much into a trailer.

To alleviate your concerns, there also won't be that much slow-motion when performing attacks, and there won't be giant blocks of text appearing randomly during combat encounters. But until you actually play the game, you won't find out about any of this stuff. ;)

What kind of Pocky? Strawberry?

Yes, strawberry's my favourite. but not the regular strawberry, but the super-fancy strawberry ones. yum!

Of all the songs in Dragon Age 2's soundtrack, which is your favorite? So far of the two I know of by name, Florence's "I'm Not Calling You a Liar" (Varric's Theme) is mine.

I haven't heard the soundtrack.

Are their crossbows in game that Hawke can use, or will puppies have to suffer?

For threatening puppies, i am specifically NOT answering that question. You monsters! :P

Did you drink forumite tears and are your subsequent high spirits the result of Gaider's revenge for consumption of his sustenance, sort of like some Adam and Eve Forbidden Fruit thingy?

I can quit anytime I want!

So, if we choose Snarky though most of the game, will we also get those new dialogue options, unlike with ME's neutral?

Yes, some dialogue options will only appear if the player has chosen a certain "personality" of response for the last 5 or 6 responses.

Is Stanley going to reply to this topic anymore?

Yes. The questions were just getting a little ridiculous and spammy. Also, the weekend happened.

That said, I have a bit of a technical
question...in the graphics options you can either choose a DX9 or a DX11
renderer...I know DX11 doesn't work in the demo but I assume the same
options will be int he full game...so did the devs just skip DX10
entirely, or did they just forget about it for the demo?

If I remember my very limited technical knowledge correctly, wasn't DX10 primarily a Vista thing? I don't think we did a whole lot with Vista, which might be why you don't see much DX10 stuff.

is the dominant personality based on a single tone that you choose. For instance, picking humour regularly = humorous personality, or do they combine? For instance, aggressive and angry often appears as the bottom choice along with firm and serious, so would those two combine to form a dominant personality.
So basically, is it based on the individual tone indicator, or the top/middle/bottom placement on the dialogue wheel?

It is based on the tone indicator, and the last few choices made by the player. If you have chosen a humourous response for the last few conversation choices, then any "humourous personality" exclusive dialogue options will appear. These do not appear in every conversation, nor is every personality represented equally. If you try to "combine" personalities, you will essentially lose them, since you're not making consecutive choices of a particular personality.

@bikeracer4487:
Our conversation system recognizes how often you've picked a certain response tone. If you've chosen the "humourous" response more than a few times in a row, Hawke is considered to have a "humourous personality." In certain dialogues, Hawkes who have a "humourous personality" will have a special, exclusive dialogue option that reflects that personality. It's like an easter egg. these special, exclusive dialogue options are not plot-critical; they are an extra bit of fun and roleplaying for players.
