This is a big problem for me, and it sucks because all I ever want to do is just play the game. I tend to spend way too much time on each little slider, meticulously pouring over every detail. Even then, I tend to not be happy with the full way I look in the game. I could just go default, but that seems a bit boring. Anyone else OCD in this regard?.
How many of you will slave over the creation of your character?

LOL, no you're not the only one, you don't know how many times I had to re-watch the ME2 intro because my Shepard looked funny in different lighting.

I always choose a default appearance the first time through. After I know what goes on in the game I create a more custom character.

I rather liked how the demo female Hawke looked, though I'd probably go for dark green or dark brown eyes, but then I haven't seen what else is availiable as they've frozen that for the demo =( But I know for Origins there was only 1 hairstyle I liked, so all my characters had that, lol.

Yeah, I had some big time issues with my Shepard as well, but Hawke is gonna be worse for me. I know we have the mirror, but who knows how long it'll take to get access to it.ViSeirA wrote...

Character creation addict right here. That's why I wish we had it in the demo so we could have prepared for the look we want for Hawke.

I won't be doing that. I think Hawke looks fine as he/she is already. Maybe I'll do it later when I've already played the game.
The player characters in DAO needed a little more work.

I actually might use the default male Hawke for my first playthrough... But I'll probably the spen hours on char creation like i did in the first for all subsequent characters...
But the appearance changing mirror is a GREAT addition, good job on Bioware for listening after all the complaints for having to replay so much to get to character creation in ME2...

Don't think of it as a problem.
Think of it as a gift.

*Raises hand* And that's before I decide to try something else fifteen minutes in and redo the character. About four times.

The thing is, I wouldnt want to use the mirror to completely change my Hawke. Just maybe add a little age, or a different hairstyle. Thats why ill end up spending 2 hours at the beginning trying to decide the permanent face, and features.

Also in Origins, the lips bugged the hell out of me, they never looked in-game the way they looked in the character creator... I was obsessed with this, hopefully I'll try something more healthy this time, but I know for sure I won't be playing default MaleHawke, don't like they way he looks at all, FemHawke? absoulutely, sign me up... her default is awesome!

I also have a problem with character creation. I am never able to create anything decent-looking with all those sliders. The more time I spend, the worse it looks. All I really can do is take a decent starting point and change it a little bit.
Creating a face from scratch so it's even bearable to look at... I find that incredibly difficult. Maybe it's just me.

Yep, I have to spend half an hour perfecting my character or else I wont be able to play.

You have no idea. There have been many times I've created a character I thought looked marvelous in the Generator, only to find that I didn't like how the nose looked at a certain angle. Once I found that one tiny detail, it was all over for that character more often than not.

i made my warden to be me.. making hawke look like my warden would be weird so.. i think i might not spent that much time on it. i am going to try and make a duncan though i wont slave over it unless its far superior to the origins cc and judging by the demo its about the same.

I'm not going to change the male Hawke and the female just a bit, so it won't be a big thing for me this time. I also spent way too much in the character screen in DA:O and then I was unhappy and restarted. Several times. I hope Bioware one day learns that character editors should reflect the look of the face in the game, or else it doesn't make much sense to have one.
