Varric: I'll tell you what really happened......*spends an hour discussing whats happening in character creation to Cassandra*

I'll be spending a long time in the CC. I get really OCD about having them look just right. My Shepards all look the same because theres only ever 1 look i'm happy with. I managed to make a fair few different wardens I was happy with though, so the DA2 creator should be fun.

I'd love that. In the character creator, there's a side video of Varric talking to Cassandra, and every time you change one of the settings Varric's like: "And then he decided that this nose shape was too wide and so.."

FemmeHawke looks decidedly nifty, so there may be a different haircut, and an attempt to make the eyes look less Mako fuelled... but aside from that, nope!

But in general, yeah, I'm definitely OCD when it comes to character creation. Morrowind, Mass Effect 2, and most of all Origins - I've seen their intros far too many times... In Origins, I restarted a character because I forgot to change her eye colour.

I for one don't like all the options to customize my character.

Short of taking a picture of myself through the Xbox Kinect and having it transplanted, I don't really want to adjust my nose size... I didn't even know very many existed until I played an RPG.

So yeah, I like the pre-set's but I usually change the character some, and occasionally spend 20 - 30 mins but no more than that, on my character.

Here's hoping the ToolSet won't be needed to make a properly detailed character face.

...and yes, I'll definitely be slaving for a couple of hours at the very least.

I´m making my own character from the very first run, given that we no longer get to choose the origin, i at least want a custom appearance. I also don´t like much male hawke (specially the shape of the beard) but default female hawke is pretty good, but as always a custom version will feel more like mine.

I spent several days tweaking the faces of my DA:O characters in the toolset.
If I noticed the slighest imperfection in-game, I got an OCD attack and had to fire up the toolset again.

I spent 20 minutes perfecting my Wii Mee.... so yeah, I'll be spending lots of time on my LadyHawke. And I'll love every second of it.

Me :o. There is nothing more fun than making new characters. On the other hand, they had a bad habit to go to delete-heaven if I did not like the nose. In ME2 I managed to make a one good face, and after that I used that always, so my Shepards are clones. DA:O had a better chargen + mods, so I could spent hours in making perfect men <3

It depends on how good the tools are in the character creation screen.

If it's hard to make a good looking hawke, I'll just stick with the default appearance.

Yeah that way when I spend 20 hours in character creation only to find a flaw I don't like later in game, I don't have to recomplete the whole intro again.

I will admit to this too. I slaved on this avatar pic, although not as much as others, but it turned out to be one of my best imho. But I will often get ticked off during the creation, go away to do something else and then come back later to "perfect" my character.

I wonder if your family changes in-game if you pick a different preset than what you originally picked?  I mean, I know that the family features change depending on the preset you choose, but if you decide to change your preset after you've been in the game for a while, I wonder if your siblings will be affected, too....?

Hawkes voice reminds me of a Robin Hood type of character for some reason. Ill have to make him look the part for my rogue/archer playthrough.

I have OCD when it comes to character creation, so I will be spending rediculous amounts of time on this.  Unless the tools suck, in which case I will be crying for rediculous amounts of time before starting my adventure.  Also, I'm playing on console so no mods for me...:crying:

Seeing as I'll need to look at the mug I create for the entirity of the game, I'll spend a fair while getting it just right for me.

I really love using the CC but for my first time through I will be too excited to get to the actual game play, so I will spend slightly less time... probably.

Yeah, my first warden had his eyebrows way too high but it looked right in the editor. Then for most of the game, he wasn't facing the camera. And suddenly, when I get to bed Morrigan and she's amazoning my character I'm like "NOOOO, EYEBROOOOOWS ! Stop looking like that, you moron ! She's looking at you, frown ! Froooown !!"

Because of the Magic Mirror I probably won't worry as much how it turns out at first.

Also, if Isabella and Aveline are any indication, I will be able to get a face closer to what I will try to go for than even Mass Effect. It all depends on how the chin, jawbone, and lip settings affect the look of the face along with how each preset looks.

I certainly am. I am very meticulous about my character's appearance. I spent a very long time doing it in ME, which was an especial pain in the arse because the face creator couldn't show you enough angles to really know how your character would look, plus the lighting was way different than in most of the game.
