 Hi there,
I just downloaded and installed the demo. So far so good.
Howvere when I press the play button the DA2 desktop simply disappears and then nothing happens.
Got any ideas of what the problem could be?
My specs are as follows:

Processor: Intel core duo 2.33GHz
Clockspeed: 2335 MHz
Display adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT
VRam: 256MB
OS: Windows Xp Professional
DirecX Version: DirectX 9.0c (Aug2008)

I suspect my Vram thingie could be a problem... altho playing origins, ME1+ME2 wasn't a problem....

Does it throw any error screens? Particularly any concerning Directx or Vram errors?

no.. i press the button and hen...nothing.
the little opening desktopj just disappears and then nothing happens.
i've tried uninstalling and re-installing it, that doen't help.
I let the installer install newest divx version, that doesn't help either.

You probably need an "old" Geforce driver to match your elderly video card. The 8n00s and 9n00s just don't work well with the newest drivers.

In short, go to Fry's electronics or Bestbuy and get a new video card.

Visit the nVIDIA drivr downloads and look for the link to their "archives", and collect some from a couple of years ago to try out.

That was my problem too. I had to disable my firewalls.

You need to download the latest version of Directx9 i had this exact same problem. Once you download and install it restart and fire up the demo. Should work fine.
