So I recently upgraded my computer and wanted to install Dragon Age on
it.  Unfortunately, it appears I lost my original disc so I've decided
to just purchase the Ultimate Edition on steam, as I have none of the
DLC or Awakening.

If I do this, will I be able to just copy my
old saves across to this different copy of DA? Or is there some
restriction on cross-copy save transfers?

I've cruised the forums, but haven't found exactly what I'm looking for.  Any help is much appreciated

Do you still have the manual with your CD code? If you, do the EA downloader will allow you to download the game again (for free). As for the saves, I don't know. But I think you might be able to?

I transfered several characters across computers. Just cut/copy/however and drop them in the characters folder should work out just fine
