no the darkspawn look and act like the Putties from power rangers, and Flemith looks like rita repulsa

Can't be that bad, if I had to guess I'd say you're a fan based on your ability to belt out references and comparisons to specific characters.

GgazElite is just a troll who actually believes his/her own bull****. It's very sad.

What, im not a troll at all.

It doesn't bother me ... YET. Dragon Age: Origins was their first exploration into a new world. They went in a new direction with the art style, but it's not a bad thing. They're trying to find the "groove" so to speak.

However, if DA3 is yet ANOTHER re-invention... well, now they're just screwing with us, and I'll be angry.

In fact, I'll tell you what I REALLY want to see. A mod/patch/thing for DA:O that incorporates some of the DA2 changes. A "Retcon Mod", if you will. Flemeth and Isabella, certainly, and perhaps darkspawn. Maybe most of the Qunari mercs could have horns. Et cetera.

Oh hrm, so the brow ridge was a retcon like the qunari thing. I was sure one guy had a minor brow ridge. Anyways, I was right about the protesis being expensive at the time though.

I was wrong but if i take a shot at DA2 via a retcon comment and then say I was right about something else it makes things all better.

Flemeth should remain the same in DA:O  she was perfect for her roll in it,  but,  now she's more active and revealing just a bit of her splendour as well as her pointy hair.

B/c the customers might actually have legitimate criticisms about the game?

Okay, true, Flemeth was master of disguise and all. But a mod that changes Isabella's appearance shouldn't be tough, hm?

Because people complain about everything?
To be perfectly honest I don’t like all of the changes but that’s a personal taste thing. I don't see why developers are not allowed to redesign things if they wish too.

the idea that changes are always good and people just hate change aren't always legitimate reasons. Sometimes the reason people hate changes because it is awful. To dismiss an opinion on the basis of just that is pretty blind.

As for the art direction, it is definitely a new direction. Hate it or love it, it is here to stay (at least for one game).

I don't think so. They had enough backlash from Mass Effect 1. (OMG SIDE BOOB THINK OF THE CHILDREN!)

Chances are they'll be wearing full body suits underneath to avoid the paranoia of the american public.

Yeah, parents are so out-dated... Did you hear about, "Video games increase rape numbers"

Comparing the two hurlock designs... I actually think the DAII's hurlocks look pretty legit. HOWEVER, I'm really hating the coif. I mean strip the coif off and it's pretty sweet.

Honestly I think that the Darkspawn did not change design, it's just that, like animals, they have different physical traits influenced by the environment they live in (different phenotype).
If we were able to visit, say, Denerim during Dragon Age 2, the Darkspawn we would find there would probably look the same as they looked in Dragon Age Origins.

The Qunari thing isn't a retcon. I wish people would stop throwing around that term so liberally.

not to nitpick, but those darkspawn were in Lothering, they were exact same spawn we fought at the beginning of origins

Personally the new visuals really really appeal to me. And I always thought original darkspawn looked like very generic while the new ones at least attempt to look different.

Well... You're a retcon.  Thats right, I went there.

:P

As for why people hate one model vs. another.  Same reason why some people like one thing and other's hate it. Human nature (or lack there of) and all that jazz.

I like that there's a new art style, I'll admit I was a little confused that Flemeth had grown horns in between leaving and then killing her in DA:O. Also did anyone notice how your brother is alive in some of the intro scenes for the Isabella area? I thought he died...
