But I don't mind playing femHawke on my second or third play through. She is very pretty.
Will more people play FemHawke than MaleHawke?

I am female, but I shall be playing a male in the game. Yes, we do exist.
Seconding this.

Bioware certainly isn't pushing for something like that. We got more female Hawke stuff than female Shepard, but that's still an unequal amount of marketing between the genders.Randomjob wrote...
I'm hoping this will be the first Bioware game where the majority of players play as a female protagonist. Usually in Bioware games the vast majority of players play as the male protagonist, but for some reason I get the feeling that a lot of people (at least here on the boards) are going female protagonist for this game.
Bioware should have stats on this from the demo, so tell us!

Whoa, bitter. I don't get the glorifying of PCs, either- signatures and fan threads and all that. Seems very Freudian to me, or something. Self-love. lol But the reason that female players do this, I guess, is that it's not taken for granted you can play a female PC. So those who prefer to play a female like to show their support.SirRaphael wrote...

I'd probably play both myself but to answer the question. I honestly doubt less than 40% of the overall player base will be something other than default male warrior. Just like in Mass Effect where a very high % of players played a default male soldier.
On this website it seems like 70%+ are females so girl hawke will have the bigger fan base and they will all bash Man Hawkes VA nonstop like they do to Shepard.
Nah I think there are more guys than girls here on this forum. Its just a lot of the guys use girl avatars. It can get pretty confusing sometimes.
Not to mention female hawke players seem to have the need to let everyone know that's who they play with sigs while male hawke players don't.
And I bash mShep's VO because I genuinely don't like it. I could never play an entire game talking like that. Normally I'm harder on female voices, so this isn't a man hate thing. I like male Hawke's VO about the same as the female and intend to play a male PC at some point, but only one of my some-dozen Wardens was male. Just not as fun for me.

I tend to prefer strong female protagonists in fiction(books/tv/movies/videogames).

You know I really hate the person who created those FemShep sigs. They are all over the place! Oops. That was me. Sorry about that.SirRaphael wrote...

On topic: Nah. I don't think there will be more female PCs this time. Would be nice for a change. Though my poll might surprise you.

Right--this is an atmosphere in which maleness (of both the PC and players) is assumed to be the default, so female players actively support Lady Hawke at least partly so they will be visible. Male players simply have the privilege of not having to care about this.
