Yes I'm not alone!
Me, I am going to stick with Lord Hawke for my first and second playthrough. In my opinion, he delivers his lines MUCH better than the lady(especially the sarcastic and aggresive ones).
And no offense but did someone just compared Nicholas Boulton to Mark Meer? You must have some hearing issues then. I swear to god that some people are hatin' on male protagonists just for the sake of it.<_<
Still, both of 'em are a vast improvement over the ME cast.

Since I can have gay characters, I will always play a gay male character and give him some motivation for being gay. Too bad Fereldan always has gay guys as their heroes (in my worlds anyway). What is up with that??
Rainbow power?
XD
As a quick addendum, I did play as a Female in Mass Effect 2, but only because I really, really think that Shepherd is a goody goody at heart, and I had to dissasociate myself from him as much as possible. Hearing him say anything renegade just sounds odd. It was easier for me to hear the Female Shepherd talk like that, for some reason. She has a really deep voice.
Hey, I thought the same. I mean the male Sheppard doesn't have the Renegade tone really. I always see him as the goodie-two-shoes. I tried to play the female Sheppard as renegade, but it didn't really work out. Should give it another go and force myself to play it trough as female. Atleast I'll have something to look at the whole game that way!

Since Im a female, as usual I'm going to play female Hawke first - then I'll play male version just to see other angle of the story. To be honest, I always better enjoyed games as a true female - female Revan, female Warden, female Shepard - mind you, the only time I actually enjoyed male character was while I was playing male Jedi Exile (and only 'cause Obsidian didn't finish the game properly - can't forgive 'em unfinished Atton Rand).

No, they shouldn't tell us because then all the MaleHawke and FemaleHawke haters will have statistics to throw around as they scream at each other about which one is best.
Actually I'm going to agree with you.
As long as both characters are well made, which they usually do, and have separate graphics for walking, which they sometimes do, I'll play both. Most will be female becuase I'm female and as a number of guys have mentioned, it's easer to play a character I can relate to. But I'll play at least one male character to see how the choices come across as a guy.

If only there was a way to turn off the voice acting.
