That said, I am very glad the Devs finally threw a bone to those of us who like darker skinned women over lighter skinned ones.

Thank you
To be on-topic a bit, I don't honestly notice that much of a difference between the two versions. I think it might just be camera angles or the difference between cutscenes and non-cutscene graphics? I like Isabela both ways, I'll be happy whatever happens in the final build.

You hate a video game character that you've spent very little time with, and know next to nothing about them? Jeeze, you mustn't make a lot of friends with that attitude.

No, i agree with you. She looks like a fun character and with bioware's writing there is always a more complex character beneath the surface.

Shh! I was trying to subtly shift this thread over to a "WE LOVE ISABELA" thread with noone noticing.

She's tough on the outside, but she seems very motherly on the inside. I am sure her softer side will be shown in the game.

Yea right, her character will turn 180° from what we have seen, heard and read so far ...

Well, we can always use the official one : http://social.biowar...dex/5118004/152
which, by the way, is being shamefully eaten alive by the other companions' threads. It's time to stand up, pirate lovers.

You've spent, what? Fifteen minutes in a demo playing with her? You've spent about 5 minutes of that time talking to her?Are you seriously going to tell me you hate someone you've spent so little time with to truly understand?
Or are you normally this judgemental?

That is a very very very loosely basedMalcolm is definitely not bisexual nor does he condon friends with benefits. He is actually fairly puritanistic. I also don't see Isabella having the sense of innate nobility Malcolm has. Malcolm is actually not a selfish man, he does what he need to do to protect his crew. Isabella by all account seems thoroughly selfish with a streak of conscience.
She freed a bunch of slaves that would have made her rich because she knew that it was wrong for her to keep on guarding them. This is literally all we've seen of her character and it speaks very well of her! If we'd seen more of her character and she'd done some terrible things, I'd agree with you more, but when all we've seen of her character is her standing up to Hayder and giving him grief about his slaves, I feel that shows that she's an individual with a lot of personal morals. This is the Free Marches, after all, nobody cares about slaves. But Isabela did.
Why does it always come down to the sex? (And what's inherently wrong with being bisexual?)

Bioware needs to realise that we care about the story and the characters, not boobs and sex.
We need more women like Wynne...

And it could be that I just watched the episode recently, but when Isa chucked her knife at that one lady, I was pretty much instantly reminded of Mal kicking that fine gentleman into the engine. But that could just be me!

Ah, this is probably true, and in that case I misunderstood. But in any case, I think if she was inspired by Mal, that doesn't mean she has to act exactly like him in every case! That wouldn't be inspiration so much as it would be copying, and if I wanted Mal exactly, I'd go watch Firefly again.
