Wouldn't it be an interesting twist if Isabela's romance starts with sex and continues with Hawke gradualy discovering the woman underneath the shallow exterior?

That is exactly what I think will happen. In one of the videos interviewing a dev he said that Isabella is one of the most complex characters in the game, and that her story is very satisfying. I doubt that she is all about sex with that description.

Hm concerning the discussion with the different versions of make-up: I'm pretty sure that I could remember that some dev mentioned in the original Isabela thread that his recent job was to put on some textures with more make-up...

What I'm more concerned about: I love the design of the wallpaper but somehow leaving out her piercings and clothes she looks pretty different in-game from the wallpaper.

Please don't think I'm crazy but sometimes in the demo her face remembered me a bit of Micheal Jackson.

Huge eyes and the nose didn't fit the rest of her face.

In my opinion as a still learning artist I wouldn't have been content with the result in-game compared to the gorgeous wallpaper.

Retract those claws. It makes all your other comments about her sound exceptionally petty and mean-spirited. If that's "chubby" then I'll eat my hat.

I do agree with Drac that in the demos her face is chubby.  Drac was talking about the face as he/she later clearified - since the thread is asking about opinions of her face.

Gotcha. I still don't really agree, but I can see where someone would get that.

Yes it really does.

Despite the fact that it's a work of fiction, it is set in medieval times. People were riddled with STDs back then because of the lack of clinical checkups and medicine. There were huge mortality rates from a lot of these STDs, for example: syphilis.

Mortality rates from pregnancy and child birth was also far higher back then than today.

So yes, being "sexually liberated" as you put it, in a time like that was reckless.

Don't want to touch that. Unless she has a good character.

Okay, I swear this is not an attack, i'm just trying to get a feel for the kind of ladies that you like in your video games. But did you by chance Romance Tali in ME2?
(Again, I swear this isn't an attack, just curious.):D

Lets make a list to make it easier

ME2 - Tali
FNV - Veronica
FF13 - Vanille, Serah, Lightning
Demons Souls - Maiden in the Black
PST - Fall-from-the-Grace
BG2 - Viconia
Kotor2 - Visa
AP - Madison, Scarlet
Bioshock 2 - Eleanor
Valkyria Chronicles - Alicia Melchiot

Reckless to our current standards perhaps, but you probobly shouldn't be aplying modern standards to a fantasy game.

Yeah? You can recklessly jump off a bridge as well.

The point is, being sexual liberal is not synonimous with being reckless. You can be reckless and sexually libereated of course, but there is no proof to show that Isabela is reckless in that regard.

Yes which only supports my point.  What you said is "There is no reckless sex"  Which I just pointed out all things have extremes.

You seem to think I said having too much sex is a bad thing?  DId you misread what I wrote?  Which part about "anything done with recklessness and lost of control is a bad thing." did you disagree with?

The analogy is "no one will condem you for liking food (sex)" but if you take it too far "and act (eating food/having sex) recklessly like it is an addiction then many people will condem you."

It is mean to say you are confusing the condemnation on, let say a woman who sleeps with random strangers in public places withou a care in the world for protection or safety, is because she have lots of sex.  What I am trying to say, and seemingly not understood by some, is that it isn't necessarily because she have alot of sex.  It is because she behave in a reckless and out of control manner.

And this isn't even a thing specific targeted at Isabella.  Why are you so defensive about it?  I was responding as an attempt to show the person I originally quoted that it is the recklessness and out of control nature why some people condemn sexually expressive people.  It isn't necessarily about sex.

Acting all innocent doesn't make it better, it just makes you a liar and a big, fat phony! You are just being biased right now, because Leliana isn't a better person with what she did in the past compared with a foursome Isabela did.

So this is exactly my point; don't judge people based on their past. I don't see you doing it with Leliana, yet why with Isabela?

Considering what they seem to have done to the game's combat system, we can only be grateful that she doesn't have animé eyes. And pink hair. And a schoolgirl uniform. :pinched:

This is exactly what I think too, and the main reason why I'm so interested in her because I just know the story she has to tell will be good. It's really a pity to see people judging her when they don't even know her, nor realize that she, yes, HAS A FACE!

Thats almost exactly what I was expecting! Well, besides Viconia which seems to be the odd one out little bit.

But I'm going to go out on a limb and say our tastes in women, with regards to their virtual representations, are almost polar opposites. I went Jack where you went Tali, Annah instead of Falls, and Marina Wulfen instead of Alicia.

It really does explain quite a bit about our little discussion, but I am glad we were able to keep it civil, which seems an extremely rare thing on these boards! :P

I would. I think she is going to be an interesting character. She is a woman who goes her own way, makes her own decisions and tries to be a good person in spite of herself. I can’t wait to see how she grows as a character.

No one gets pregnant or ill in fiction unless it's crucial for the plot, though. Isabela could be just dangerously genre savvy.

Ridiculous.  She is just buxom ;)
Seriously, though.  That butt and those thighs are all muscle, and while she isn't Barbie-doll thin, not much of it is fat, either.  She isn't chubby, she is just powerfully built.  Besides, it keeps her in proportion with those massive boobs.  I'm not a chubby chaser by any stretch, but think she looks great.

Me too.  I think it is just that her sexuality exists for her pleasure, and not (necessarily) the pleasure of the PC, which is a welcome change from most other video game romances I've seen.  Morrigan or, back in the day, Viconia, used their sexuality in an aggressive way, almost like a weapon, and through that eventually ended up falling for the person they used it on.  Isabella is different.  She has her own sexuality, and it doesn't revolve around the player, you can just choose to involve yourself in it.
