I have had 4 crashes in a row now fighting the archdemon. Anyone else had this issue or found a solution?

You might get a better answer searching the site. Best way is to use Google and redirect it. Type something like this into the Google search bar...

It's hard to track you across multiple threads. And I don't know why you abandoned the thread you started to necro someone else's, where the opening post may be mistaken to be your information.

I assume this kind of crashing is new, in which case I'd suspect a corrupt file somewhere. Especially if it crashes at a reliable moment (e.g. when it is killed). If that's the problem, the solution is to re-install.

The other thread says it is due to an issue with Core Quad CPUs, and that if you run it with only the 2nd and 3rd CPUS in your core quad then it will work. Can anyone tell me how to run it off certain processors?

I'd be careful about suggestion that a little reading isn't worth your time.  All of us on this site do this strictly as volunteers.  Just a friendly suggestion.  ;)

You asked about processor affinity... the link I posted took you right to it.

PsiMeson wrote...

2) processor affinity: tried this
last night and mage tower crashes basically went away. In fact, I don't
think the game crashed at all for the rest of the night, but the odd
crash here or there is no big deal. Anyway, I am not aware of any way
to set affinity on a permanent basis under native Win7. You have to do
this for each gaming session: launch the game; alt-tab out to desktop;
launch TaskManager and select the processes tab; rightclick
daorigins.exe and select "Set Affinity"; uncheck all cores apart from
CPU 0; play game.

At this point, since you've spread this across at least three posts that I can see, I suggest you take up your issue with EA directly.  You can live chat or send an e-mail to the tech folks at support.ea.com.

Ok thanks. And sorry about the 3 threads. I was getting pissed off.
