I recently decided to  try to play this game again, as I was bored with the other games I have. I started the game and did the whole West Harbor part (but skipped the tutorial). I got to the point where I'm supposed to go to the Weeping Willow Inn, but I cannot get there. I open up the map and click on the Inn to travel there, but the map never loads and I get the "Could not load module/could not unpack module error". I've looked online and I haven't found a solution to the issue. The only thing I saw in reference to this is that I need to have at least 15 gb of free space on my C: drive. I've freed up as much space as I can, but I'm only at about 6 gb free. Is this the only solution to this process? Every other game, program, and application I have works fine. I'm running Windows 7, and I have completely patched the game.

Any suggestions would be great, as the "Free up 15 gbs of free space" workaround will not work for me.

You don't need 15GB of free space. It's more like 7-8 and that's only for patching purposes or installation due to the way the files are expanded during installation and patching.

Win7 32 or 64?

This was something that happened regularly before the first major patch. It's going to sound crazy, but do you have DX9 installed? I know, Win7 comes with DX10 (or 11) and everyone keeps saying, "I don't want to downgrade..." It's not a downgrade. The DX9 on your retail NWN2 OC disc is in a file called Prereqs. This game was designed for DX9 and the later versions do things vastly differently. In some cases, problems (such as this one) occur that are solved by going Old Tech and using the DX9 for it. It will not overwrite anything in your later versions, they are not even compatible.

Give that a shot and see how it goes. There might be an issue of attempting to do some of the conversations that advance the plot and not using the main PC character (the one you created.) That sort of rings a bell for me too. Might try that first, by going to an earlier save point and making sure you advance the plot with the primary character.

I downloaded and installed DirextX 9c and installed it, but I ran into the same issue, and I made sure that my PC was the only one who initiated conversations.

Hmm. Dang, I really can't remember what the fix for this was. I haven't seen it in so long. Are you sure you have done everything in your journal entries to complete any necessary "quests" in West Harbor (other than the opening tutorial sequence that is) ?

There may be a console fix for this. Not sure. Let me research a bit and get back to you.

Yeah, I was was wondering if there was a console command that might warp my character to that map. I'll double check my journal and make sure I've completed all the quests in West Harbor.

I am sure there is, check in the Forums for the Original Campaign (where spoilers are allowed) and I bet you'll find a thread that relates to that -- or someone who knows where it is. I don't peruse the spoilers threads unless I absolutely have to. I haven't finished the OC, haven't even opened MotB and only played about 6hours worth of SoZ *(I like to play in the toolset more than playing the game.) I don't want any future game play surprises spoiled by being too familiar with all the things that happen.

I haven't found anything. I've found a code that might work, but I need the map name of the Weeping Willow Inn and some coordinates.

Again, you'd have better luck getting that information over there with a specific post. Are you still having the other issue?

Yeah I created a post there as well. I'm still having the issue. Can't get to the Weeping Willow Inn. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, started a new game and even went through the tutorial. Nothing has worked.

Sounds like a corruption issue. Do you have the digital or disc version?
