every single time i try to install the toolset it tells me the file is incompatable with my OS (windows 7 professional 64 bit) as such i have no means of modifying GDA files and the like. does anyone know how to fix it?
can't install toolset due to using 64 bit OS

I've have it on Win7 Home Premium 64 and no problems. You might try to right click on the install file and click on 'Troubleshoot Compatability'.

If you're still stuck for a solution, you could check out elys's GDApp to possibly accomplish what you want. If you need to open ERFs, there are 3rd party tools for that as well.
I haven't heard of the toolset being incompatible with Win7 x64... are you sure it's not maybe a corrupted download? Just guessing there, though.

tried the compatability thing click start program and nothing happened also i dunno if it matters but the toolset page says the thing is 507 meg but what i got was 470 when it finished. also redownloading it just to be sure and this time it's 496.. what's with the inconsistent DL size. and now it works.. i guess it was that missing bit of file i still don't get why it's inconsistent tho

I recall the toolset was in listed in units of 1024*1000 bytes and not 1024^2.
(496*1024*1024) / 1024 / 1000 = 507 trunc.
