Thane in Mass Effect 3

He had only a few months to live in ME2. Since we know the reapers will be here by ME3, and that it will presumably take them a while to get here (otherwise they wouldn't need the citadel for rapid transport), it seems likely he'll be dead by then.
If romanced, his LOTSB dossier includes a letter from him that strongly implies he won't see shepard again. Link
It was very easy for him to die in the suicide mission. You could choose him as tech specialist, he would die if you didn't get the weapons upgrade, and he is first on the list of who dies if your biotics specialist isn't up to scratch.

However, if ME3 takes place very shortly after ME2 or there is some other very plausible way that they bring him back, I certainly won't be complaining.
And by VERY plausible, I mean something other than Mordin discovering a miracle cure.

As much as I love Thane, I hope he is not in ME3. It would just feel like Bioware wimping out and throwing a bone to the fanbase, at the cost of believability.

Yep, thats why i always choose him as the tech specialist.

I hope Thane, Jack, pig faced Miranda, grunt, Jacob, mordin, Samara, and Kasumi don't come back in ME3. I only want zaeed, and legion comming back because they're badasses
Grunt and Jack weren't badass enough?

He'll probably die during the course of ME3, but he'll be there long enough to provide romantic closure. Also, offscreen deaths are cheap.
Agree with this.

I do want Thane back in ME3. Not only do I find offscreen deaths cheap, I also want a chance for Shepard to either find a cure for him or be there to see him die because of his illness.

Like Cheez said, off-screen deaths are pretty lame, so I doubt he'll die before ME3, but maybe after?
Who knows..

I don't believe they will have him die off before ME3 otherwise they should of had an ending in ME2 with him die. I mean why the effort to keep him alive if he dies anyway before the next game?

No, you're not. I liked him a lot. Some people just hate everyone, which gets really annoying.

Seriously, what compells people to find a year-old thread and comment on it? How do people even FIND these threads?! Just let the dead die!
