I'm doing a runthrough of ME1 right now, and since I have played it so much, I just kind of skip all the dialogue and speed through all the quests. I'm gearing up a game for ME2 (I JUST got it, long wait, I know) so I'm doing all the quests and getting all the codex entries, but again, I skip through all the dialogue to speed things up. So far I've only run into one problem; I cannot finish the "Geth in the Tunnels" quest. I already did all of Feros, and I already killed the geth and the transmitter, I just never actually reported it to Fai Dan (because I was speeding through and forgot). Now, the entry is still there, even though Fai Dan killed himself already. I can't find anybody to report it to instead, and the entry won't go away. I can't figure out how to complete it. It's not a big deal, it's just a little annoying and I would hate to find out that finishing that quest has an impact on ME2. Any ideas on how to deal with this? It really should have completed itself, with no reward or something, but the game should have sensed that it was no longer complet-able through normal means and "failed" the quest or something instead of just leaving it there.
So how do I finish it/get rid of it? Can I?

That should not be a big issue, Shiala and the other named NPC's that survive will mention something about what will happen to the colony in the future. Also, I want to say that your journal will reflect the status of the Colony and so will the Council once you get back on the Normandy.
Off-hand very little content would change in ME2 regarding what happened in Feros. But I'm not 100% sure how that would affect the flags used to trigger content in ME2, and then ME2's save file for ME3.
Are you on Xbox or PC? You can edit your save either way, but on the PC, it is easier to access the save file. That is another option you have available to be sure.
Last thing, do you have a save that is before you leave in the Mako to ExoGeni? If you do, then you can replay that section to be sure, but I know that those Creepers can get annoying to fight.

No save file from before; I didn't notice the problem until I was on Virmire. I'm on Xbox, but I havn't seen any ME1 modding tools for it.

The modding would be on the ME2 save file. I should have been more clear on that point, I apologize.
At any rate, you should be fine if you use this ME1 Shep for ME2.

Oh, cool, thanks. Would you mind linking me to whatever tool I need to mod the ME2 saves? Or is it easy enough to find with a google? I didn't really think not finishing the mission would affect anything, seeing as how I saved the colony and that's all that really matters, I guess. Just wanted to be sure.

No worries, I'd be concerned too about the save file.
