Am i the only one who started sing "those were the days" from all in the family while reading this thread?

Was that playing in your Walkman or boombox?  OMG the days before cd's. I remember when cd's and cd players first came out. The players were huge and cost like 1500-2000 bucks the cds themselves were like 50-75.

I am sorry i kind of miss blowing the cartridge then slamming it in the console then slamming it down and putting a book on top of it all while holding the power button in so i could play my game again.

Hey some people still have to do that! Well, until my N64 gives and dies like my SNES did, anyway.

Ah the times before we even really had magazines to look at, when all we had was the back of the box.
Sometimes miss those days.
Miss the days later of my buddy going here you need to play this game and hands me the first Final Fantasy for the NES.
Such a different time.

okay now I feel OLD

Yes those are the times when it was fun to be a gamer. You had to go to the store look at the box read the back of it and decide if you want to put your hard earned money down on it.  We didnt have GS or EB to trade or return games to either when you bought the game it was yours, unless you  could sucker someone else into buying.

In gamer terms i am old LOL.

The good ole days when the only review were in Nintendo Power magazine, or Playstation magazine(bet not alot remeber that).

Just say my first console machine was an Intellivision.
I remember playing old RPG's where it was black screen white stick figures  and text, all coming from 5' floppy on PC.

Nintendo Power was still in the distance.

We didnt get all this PR propaganda  from the developers of a game and game "journalists".
We didnt get fake footage of what the game would be
We didnt get BS about content being cut for people who would later buy the game
We didnt get developers cutting the costs by using volunteers to check their bugs
We didnt go on the internet to read reviews all praising game that nobody had played yet

I remember when there were not internet forums people could troll....;)
