When Cassandra stabbed the book on Varric's (spelling???) lap, did anyone else wince?
Seriously, why didn't the blade go through his... thigh?
Quick question...

She's very mindful with blades. You obviously don't want to injure the prisoner, just intimidate him into spilling the beans, right. This would then imply Varric, at least gets nabbed by the Chantry.
Also, she stabbed close to his thigh, not in it.

he was holding the book high enough that it wouldnt hit his thigh. shes just trying to intimidate him.

I noticed that he yanked the book up just in time NOT to get stabbed in the thigh. But then again, I wasn't wearing my glasses at the moment, so I could be wrong.

Went between his thighs, all the more reason for you guys to wince.

Otherwise, if he was stabbed, he would have all the more reason to keep quiet.
