Well, BioWare said that LotSB was the first of "several" ME2 set-up, bridge-gapping DLCs to come. If Arrival is another one then that really only does count as "several" by the bare minimum of the definition. There's also supposedly a week of CDN returning for a DLC, so if we don't get it returning prior to this DLC releasing then there's likely another to come. It seems Arrival will be coming fairly soon too... probably in March or April. That would still leave 8 months or so before ME3 comes out. Though lets also keep in mind that Dragon Age Origins "two year DLC" plan was cut down to less than one year before BioWare abandoned it DLC-wise, so given that Arrival could very well be the final piece, or at least final significant one (there could be the odd Appearance Pack, etc.).

I'm thinking it's going to be the last.

3 is supposed to be out around "holiday" 2011 right? I don't think we'll see this DLC for about 2 months (keep in mind this wasn't even "announced" yet), so if it comes out in April or May ME3 won't be too far away.

Curious to see how they handle this though. I mean, arrival can only mean one thing right?

I sure hope not. Personally I want a ultimate edition before ME3 so I can buy it for my new rig (I own it on 360 now.)

I for one do not believe that this will be the final DLC before the launch of ME 3. Terror_K makes the most important observation...if no 1 week ramp of CDN prior to this release, we will get at least 1 more. I think that only reason we haven't heard more is because of the release of Dragon Age 2. I would not be surprised at all if we get some news within the next 10 days or so (and if not then, at GDC for sure).

I always thought it was that they are going to do multiple bridging dlc like LotSB (meaning at least two linking dlc after LotSB).

It has been said many times that there will be ONLY 3 weeks worth of CDN postings in 2011: a week leading up to a DLC release and 2 weeks leading up to the release of Mass Effect 3. It is safe to say that the "Arrival" DLC pack that is currently incoming will be the last DLC as they will probably need the teams working on DLC to help out with finishing up with ME3 later on in the year, and will probably need their services in creating creating DLC for ME3 post launch.

And if "Arrival" is not preceded by a week of CDN?

We can only hope that it isn't but all available information (and the feeling in my gut) points to "Arrival" being the last. Considering how the forums EXPLODED with activity after the "accidental" reveal via the PS3 patch it's safe to say that Bioware would be giving up a goldmine of support by stopping DLC production for ME2. Still, with ME3 on the horizon I can understand why they would. That's simply the nature of the business.

Arrival might be the last, unless it's like Arrival Part 1 or something.

Shepard gets captured by batarians at the end and start ME3 by escaping from a Batarian jail.

Here is the link: Batarian POW

I find that playing ME2 from the hard drive on the 360 a bit smoother than from disk. Same with dlc. The 360, imo, is not far from its limits playing either ME or DA. It certainly seemed to be at its maximum capacity dealing with the LOtSB dlc and the DA2 demo.  Thought id just put it out there.

Edit - re-reading your post i see that you mean for pc LOL.

If they keep making it, I'll keep buying it like a fool. What's the total now? like $35-$40 worth of dlc that's come out?

It wouldn't surprise me if they combined two DLC's together, making Arrival the last one. I imagine Bioware will tell us if it's the last.

I just wish they'd hurry up and give a release date, I only have 800 microsoft points and I need to see arrival before I decide between it and Da Vinci Disappearance

Think it is not the last one. We will see. If CDN restarts 3 weeks prior to it's release, it's the last one; if not, it's not.

I'd love for there to be more after "Arrival," but at this point all signs point to it being the last one .

From what I've been able to tell, this is likely to be the last. But there was an interview on some game website (I can't honestly remember which one, but I got it in my Google Alerts for ME3) had two of the ME workers talking about the next DLC. They said they'd originally planned for several small mission DLCs to make up the story between ME2 and 3, but the projects had snowballed into one massive DLC; sort of like a mini-ME game, just with a quicker storyline. From what I understood, anyways.
So Arrival could likely be the last, but most likely has more than just one mission in it. In fact, weren't many of the the trophies in ME2 from completing specific missions? So if we take that logic, I'd wager there's at least 3 missions packed into this; and I mean separate missions, not conjoined missions like LotSB, Firewalker, or Overlord.

tbh im glad this will be the last dlc because i want them to make mass effect 3 top notch and the final curtain for shepard. i mean look at swtor it got pushed back because if you think about it biowares trying to balance 3 games for this year alone so why continue expanding a 1 year old game? i love me2 just as anybody else but even the best game creators need to focus on future titles
