Feeling very nostalgic tonight. After reading all the criticism/support for DA2, I'm starting to wonder what Bioware era the community in the DA2 forum is from. Not to criticise, just out of curiosity.

First Bioware game: Baldur's Gate
Year: 1999
Why you started playing it: My friend raved and forced me to buy it.
Bioware forum join date: 21 Jul 2002

Please post yours, old or new I wanna see. :P

First Bioware game was Jade Empire on the xbox. Then I went back and played KOTOR, ME1 + ME2, DA:O and will be getting all 3 Bioware releases this year. I am also a PC gamer.

Year was 2005.

Jade Empire

I har bought a 360 then a week later I went out to buy Fable and Jade Empire.

Before that, I didn't have a computer so I couldn't play their earlier games.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox was my first Bioware game. In fact, it was the reason I bought the console in the first place. From there, I went back and played the Baldur's Gate games on PC. I've been hooked ever since.

KoTOR [Knights of The Old Republic]

- I thought it was a multiplayer Star Wars game and I bought it at the GameStop at Great Lakes Crossing in Auburn Hills, MI for the Xbox, along with the strategy guide.

---

Ironic, as I hate multiplayer games... glad that wasn't one.

That might have been my first experience of an RPG, I learned quickly after that.

Baldur's Gate; I was simultaneously angered and humbled when my mighty character and Imoen were massacred by the first wolf they came across.

First Bioware game: KotOR

Year: 2003

Why I started playing it: I was rather new to gaming, so I remember watching my older brother playing it. I eventually bought a copy for us and so launched my love for Bioware! =)

First BioWare game I played was KOTOR (PC) but at the time I didn't really know about BioWare, then after that Jade Empire (Xbox). Finally a good friend of mine introduced me to Mass Effect then started playing it and got instantly addicted. Never looked back since.

First Bioware game: Dragon Age: Origins

Year: August, 2010

Why you started playing it: I was just looking for some good single RPG.

Bioware forum join date: 31 Aug 2010

Now, I've been playing DAO, Mass effect 1&2 and Jade Empire since August 2010. I tried to play BG series, but ... I just can't stand the graphic (I'm not a fan of Diablo/planescape like graphic) and character portraits.

It's alright, man. Back in 2004 I criticized people who couldn't get into BG series due to age. But so many eras have come and gone, I can't do that anymore. People grew up with 3d gaming these days, it's too hard to go back to 800x600.

I still fire up BG2 once per year, though. :D I've been a 10-year addict.

I joined the forums back when Bioware had to piggyback on Black Isle forums.
