Feeling very nostalgic tonight. After reading all the criticism/support for DA2, I'm starting to wonder what Bioware era the community in the DA2 forum is from. Not to criticise, just out of curiosity.

First Bioware game: Baldur's Gate
Year: 1999
Why you started playing it: My friend raved and forced me to buy it.
Bioware forum join date: 21 Jul 2002

Please post yours, old or new I wanna see. :P

I remember (this was back when I was in secondary school, mind) going to the Compucentre (now defunct) and paying the full price of the game so I could 'preorder' a copy, a practice that was rather less common than it is now. I can still recall the look of the receipt and how excitedly I tore open that box as my dad drove me home. Got home, installed the game, played through the first couple of hours of the game - and then got eaten by giant bug monsters.

Took me forever to get past that point. I do remember seeing the intro cinematic when you go to the Friendly Arm Inn and thinking (likely for the first time) 'I want to make video games.'

Bought every BioWare game since then. Probably spent the most time with NWN, if only because my friends also bought copies and we played through the OC in multiplayer a couple of times. We had our own version of the game, entitled 'See How Many Times We Could Get Our Friend To Open The Obviously Trapped door'.

Ahh, memories.

This thread has filled me with nostalgia.

If I lose my weekend to BG, I blame all of you.

This is not DA2 specific!

... KOTOR for me.

True, but I'm feeling rather magnanimous tonight. Of course, I can promise no such generosity on the part of the other mods, but folks seem to be behaving so I'm willing to be a little lax this time.
