Although I wasn't paying attention to developer names back then, my first BW game was Shattered Steel which I still have here, along with all of the other BW titles, except for MDK2.
When did you start playing Bioware games?

People are going to kill me for this, but my first BW game was BG, back in the 90s ... and I hated it so much I couldn't get through it. That was my last BW game until I tried NWN in 2005, and I hated that, too
My next attempt was DA:O, which finally won me over. I know, sacrilege, right?
I recently went back and forced myself through BG, but I still wasn't a big fan. BG2 I found enjoyable, but incredibly flawed and often boring. Still can't get through NWN -- too monster of the week, not enough character development.
This might be why I'm so forgiving of all DA2's changes.

My first game was Baldur's Gate back when it came out back in 98 or 99... was literally waiting outside the store for it to open so I could buy my copy.
I was a long-time pencil&paper AD&D gamer (as DM actually), up until Baldur's Gate the only D&D games available were the old "Gold-Box" games and a couple off shoots like Eye of the Beholder 1 & 2.
Baldur's Gate definitely felt the closest to a real D&D experience for me than all the other older D&D computer games that came before it.... god I played the hell out of that game... I think I finally stopped playing it in 2002.... but I'd play Baldur's Gate 2 for a good 4 years as well though.
Actually replayed both (bought 'em from Gog) just a few months ago... man those games hold up really well today still.
And of course, Baldur's Gate made me a die-hard Bioware loyalist. Have purchased every game they released ever since (even MDK... which was not the type of game I usually enjoy, but I did actually like it to my surprise).
There just aren't any or many developers who make great story & character focused games out there... there's plenty of decent and even good RPGs out there, but none of 'em create characters or stories quite like Bioware does.
If I have any criticism, it's for Neverwinter Nights.... felt the characters & story were the weakest of their games. Never really tried it in multiplayer though.

For me, it was shattered steel back in '97/98. When I was knee high to a grass hopper. Since then I believe I have religiously bought nearly every game/expansion/DLC on the release day. My hard drives are littered with Bioware games past past and present that I can't bring myself to uninstall despite it being a decade since I stopped playing some of the early titles.

First BG, because the polish edition by CD Projekt was amazing... but i still prefer Black Isle/Obsidian rpg way.

Mine was NWN, but only user-created modules (I didn't have the specs at the time to even enjoy the basic campaign). But I did love the DnD foundation. However, that wasn't what got me hooked on BW's game design. It was KOTOR1. My brother picked it up for my nephews and I watched them play it. I mocked it to no end about how it wasn't Star Wars at all, DnD-lite, and how stupid it all was.
A year or two later I picked up a copy on a whim and learned, very quickly, that I had been an idiot. Lover of all things Bioware since then.

Baldur's Gate for me as well. Joined the previous Bioware forums in March 2002, but had joined the even older Black Isle forums a year before in March 2001.
Actually, Baldur's Gate was my first roleplaying experience of any kind. I loved it so much that I started DMing tabletop D&D at college in 2001. I still do. So thanks to all the BG folks who got me into this wonderful hobby. :-)
Of all the Bioware games out there, I've probably put the most time into NWN - mainly into the building and custom content making aspects. It's an incredibly customisable and accessible game. I've made stuff for it this weekend and I intend to still be mucking around with it for years to come.

I played KOTOR when I was 10 or 12 so this was 2006 maybe? I absolutely loved it, I could barely stop playing it. Then I heard about Dragon Age and Mass Effect and I've been here ever since.

I have never played a Bioware game.
As to the forums, I was on the last one and lurked on the one before that too.

First Bioware game: Dragon Age: Origins
Year: December of 2009
Why I started playing it: I saw the commercial and it looked like the game that I've always wanted. Then I played it and it met every expectation
I now have played ME1, ME2, and NWN1

First game was Jade empire, though at that time (and age) I was not aware that it was made by bioware, nor did I care, a few years later I then realized that the game was made by bioware. After that I started playing KOTOR, ME:1 then sonn after I finally decided to play DA (which I thought was going to be an overly hyped crappy game) which I fell in love with.
In fact, I don't think Bioware has ever made a game I didn't like tbh.

KoTor (Big star wars fan still am) but when I started to pay attention to companies it was ME
I played:
KoToR (I was 11 when I started)
KoToR 2 (Somewhat since they didn't fully make it)
Jade Empire
Mass Effect
Dragon Age
Mass Effect 2
And soon Dragon Age 2
And I do swear that I have watch my brother play MDK2
In the sense of my age I've been a long term fan

I played it because I loved the first game which was made by a different developer. The sequel wasn't very good... I even played it on Dreamcast.Lacan2 wrote...

Got addicted to BW games back in 2000. My friends were all playing Diablo II in 2000 and I never understood its appeal. I bought BG II: SoA instead and fell in love . The art style, the characters (Irenicus, Bodi and Viconia) The story, it sucked me in: Yoshimoto's betrayal, for example i felt it. Also the drawn 2D graphics are timeless. I noticed this after i started to play BGII and NWN again not long ago. NWN is barely watchable with the dated 3D engine while BG II is still a jewel.
Since BG II i have great trust in BW's games. I since then I've played nearly every titel. (BG, NWN, MDK2, KOTOR, Jade Empire, ME, DA:O, ME2)
edit: grammar

First Bioware game I played was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic (PC). I remember thinking, when I first started the game, how awesome it was that they combined adventure game-styled dialogues and the third-person camera with proper RPG elements. Sometime later I gave Jade Empire a shot (also PC, I'm a PC gamer after all
) and it was pretty interesting too. After that, I decided to pay a lot more attention to PC versions of Bioware games and gave each of them a shot when they came out.
On a side note, I loved the "viable love triangle" option from Jade Empire. Nothing was shown, it was all "fade to black" back then, but it was still one of those "Wow! I can't believe they did that!" moments. Too bad they decided not to repeat it. On a different side note, I never tried any of the KotOR romance options. The game was awesome enough without them.

My very first Bioware game was Baldurs Gate. At the time I was to young to grasp the game properly and my English was very poor. Two years later I found the game collecting dust in a long forgotten corner of my room and I've been a Bioware addict ever since.
