KOTOR as well for me. It just.. hooked me, and I was a Bioware fan. DAO sent me over the top though.. and it's the first time I've pre-ordered any game in my entire life.

Baldur's Gate 2.

Don't remember what year...but it was a while after it came out.

My friend recommended it to me (partly so he could play co-op with me online...ah the good old days where bioware made co-op rpgs).

Do you remember the first Sword Spider? I think I crapped my pants. :crying:

I remember it well...damn thing "chunked" (as in bodies literally exploding into chunks) 4 party members before I took it down. And getting chunked in BG was no joke...none of this sissy "get up after the battle is done and everything is OK" stuff we've gotten for the last 10 years >_<

This. In retrospect I probably should have played Jade Empire.

Baldur's Gate, 1998. Didn't finish it until a few years later, after my first BG2 playthrough.

Yeah man, it was game over. I couldn't even afford to rez a party member, it was like 3000 gold lol. If he was chunked, it was adios for good gold or not.

LOL coop. God I loved those days. None of this XBox Live Silver crap, voice headsets, etc. Just you and a friend connecting by LAN or *gasp* actually sitting in the same room together.

I bought Baldur's Gate when it first released. I can tell you that I remember that. I don't know if I had anything before that or not. Because honestly I don't know what if anything they made before that these days...

And since that was like 12 years ago can you really blame me for not remembering at this point?

Little fun trivia for you guys to use on somebody else later. While the First Baldur's gate was 5 discs. It fit on only 1 DVD... and on one of the First DVD copies of the game a couple of the maps are slightly different than what a lot of people had them as. I know this because I also own the 5 CD version. I happened to get a really good price on that plus the Tales of the Sword Coast Expansion as a bundle.

Knights of the Old Republic. I was like 12 years old, and I fell in love.

When I picked up DA Origins last year, that's when I realized they were the same company.

Why you started playing it: I was just looking for some good single RPG.
Bioware forum join date: 31 Aug 2010

Now, I've been playing DAO, Mass effect 1&2 and Jade Empire since August 2010. I tried to play BG series, but ... I just can't stand the graphic (I'm not a fan of Diablo/planescape like graphic) and character portraits.

It's alright, man. Back in 2004 I criticized people who couldn't get into BG series due to age. But so many eras have come and gone, I can't do that anymore. People grew up with 3d gaming these days, it's too hard to go back to 800x600.

I still fire up BG2 once per year, though. :D I've been a 10-year addict.

Humm.. I think it's more like art style problem. I still enjoy 2D RPGs. I've been playing video games over 10 years; there is just certain art style that I cannot bear with. :(

So since, 2004.

I first experienced games from Bioware through my dad. We basically play the same games and we had a somewhat intense D&D rivarly thingy going on. I played Balder's Gate 1&2 with my dad a lot because I was a little kid at the time. I really liked the game so I bought other releases NWN and its expansions. I loved it as well. Got Kotor in middle school for christmas, that was the best christmas ever. I was super hooked then, I got Jade Empire, Mass Effect, DAO, and Mass Effect 2. I've been playing these games since I was nine and I've enjoyed and loved every single one of them. Maker, its been 11 years... wow O_o.
