Nostalgia can be a nice thing :D.

Year ... actually I can't remember exactly :(.

But it was KotOR :) ... I blame Bioware for getting me into the whole SW:EU thingy and for getting me interested into Mandalorian (ok the last point they share with Obsidian and Karen Traviss).

It still is one of my favourite games that I play from time to time (last time about 2 month ago) :) and one of my most repeated games I ever played. ^_^

I was aware of NWN and Baldur's Gate but at these points I wasn't all that interested in the pure fantasy genre

Bought my X-Box for the sole purpose of stimulating my Star Wars addiction through kotOR. In love ever since.

Baldur's Gate.

I'd never heard of Bioware when I bought it. But Black Isle was also partaking in developing BG, and they had made the Fallout games, which I loved. I also loved BG, and BG2 even more. NWN single player was a huge dissapointment, but the multi-player part was fun.

Jade Empire I disliked with a vengeance, so it was very reluctantly that I picked up KOTOR. KOTOR was pretty cool, though, and Mass Effect as well. Dragon Age: Origins was a step back towards the Bioware games of old, the games I really loved. Mass Effect 2, and seemingly DA2 as well, are not, however. Rather the opposite.

Unless something radically changes, it would seem that I have to part way from Bioware's games, which makes me sad, but there you are.

Would like to show my dedication and be one of the cool kids by saying Baldur's Gate, but for me it was actually Knights of the Old Republic on the original Xbox. Still BioWare's best work in my opinion. You could tell they really went all out to make that game superb.

Sorry, but that's not a Bioware game.
Obsidian.

I still want Lucas Arts to realise their mistake and get Obsidian to rework the game and include the relevant cut-content that they wanted to put back in as a big patch, along with major bug fixing.

To be honest I'm fairly new in Bioware games, eventhough I've been playing games for my whole life. The first Bioware game I ever played was Dragon Age Origins, one look at that blood spurting everywhere and the music...and I was in love. :-)

For about a year. I picked up ME1 and 2 after a friend bullied me into it last February.

Baldur's Gate. I have fond memories of watching the forums and seeing the "gone gold" announcement and the "shipping to retail" posts. Was visiting my then girlfriend and we went out and scoured local game stores for it in the days after Christmas. Now we're married, three kids & I'm waiting for Dragon Age 2. :)

Other fun BW forum memories include watching Rob Bartel have discussions with AOL Neverwinter Nights players in the months after BW's NWN was announced. There was a guy...Dirk something?....who led a cadre of oNWN gamers who would, every so often, decry what BW was doing to NWN as sacrilegious, or dumbing down oNWN, or the like. some say history likes to repeat itself. :) (Rob was a great guy, I loved reading his posts, and to this day I watch for his name in the credits of BW games.)

The first Bioware game I bought was Neverwinter Nights ans its expansions. I then got a used copy of BG from a buddy to play. I've bought everthing for the pc since then.

Same here. It's also safe to say that my RPG cherry was popped by NWN.

Neverwinter Nights, in an attempt to get into RPGs, then everything since then except ME2.

Forums a lot later, normally I stay away from these, the yearly wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Sports Interactive forums about how the new game "ruins everything" is a bit much, unfortunately I'm way too stoked on DA2 atm so here I am.

I have some faint memories of Shattered Steel back in -96, but they really hooked me with Baldur's gate two years later.
Since then I've played every single BioWare PC game except MDK2.

In April 2010 Mass Effect 1 made me interested in Bioware.

Week later Mass Effect 2 made me love Bioware.

DAO was the first BioWare game I played.

The spousal unit was a Baldur's Gate II fan, and he bought DAO and convinced me to play it.

I started with NWN because I was a High School nerd that liked D&D and thought a video game based off it would be cool. I've enjoyed every game Bioware has released since then, and I also went and got BG2 awhile back.

Forums... I've been on the BSN since it was launched.  I didn't do much on the old Bioware forums, I think I only posted once and looked at tech support stuff for the inevitable "I broke my game and I'm sad now" moments.

Baldur's Gate 2, 2002 i think, didn't understand it at first (it was my first rpg), but kept with it and got hopelessly addicted. got my friends to play, we would all compare progress every day.

When i accidently killed the shadow dragon with disintigrate i remember leaping out of my chair and cheering.

Joined the forums like 2005 i think.. can't remember why actually... glad i did.

Mass Effect was my first bioware game, and my first RPG and first Sci-Fi game at that. Before then I didn't even know what RPG stood for. How foolish I was.

Baldur's Gate in autumn of 1999. I wanted something to play on my new laptop and ran across it while window shopping at a mall. The name was instantly recognizable. I remember reading about it in an issue of Diehard Gamefan months prior and liking what I saw. Unfortunately I had an aging desktop at that time.

That purchase was not only my introduction to BioWare, but more CRPGs in general. By chance I picked up the gold version that came bundled in with Fallout. Those two games made my first months in a new state a bit more bearable. Although I did already own Septerra Core; that title was heavily influenced by popular JRPGs.

My BioWare addiction started in 2007 with Mass Effect, main reason why I bought an Xbox 360. Since then, DAO, ME2, KotOR, and in a week DA2. I also plan on playing JE, BG 1& 2, Shattered Steel, and the rest of them, even Sonic The Dark Brotherhood.
