It was my favorite game back then. I still play it from time to time, in fact.

Then I bought Neverwinter Nights. I don't know what it was, but after I played a bit of NWN, playing Diablo II again just became stale, shallow and boring. Neverwinter Nights cured my Diablo II addiction.
A Bioware game literally changed my life.

I don't remember the year, but it was probably about 6 or 7 years ago. I was hopelessly addicted to Diablo II - seriously, I could not play anything else, I was doing 10pm to 8am overnighters, and I was obsessing about character builds and finding the next ungodly items.
Then I bought Neverwinter Nights. I don't know what it was, but after I played a bit of NWN, playing Diablo II again just became stale, shallow and boring. Neverwinter Nights cured my year and half long Diablo II addiction.

Didn't expect that lol. NWN offical campaign set off a wave of anti-Bioware/3d sentiment on the official forums. Probably because it was coming off BG2 and everyone expected that level. There was like an Internet jihad of loyal fans bashing Bio for that one.
Redeemed with Hordes of the Underdark though.

Rented it, then ended up loving the game (still do), and was a Bioware consumer ever since.

Year: 2006
Why you started playing it: I never tried RPGs before, but I had had a lot of game theory by that point and just couldn't get into strategy games anymore. (I concluded graphics didn't matter to me... until I tried NWN. that was painful)

I still have Baldur's Gate around, unfortunately I didn't put CDs away too much so it's literally everywhere around the house.

I might not have found Dragon Age at all if I hadn't been playing Divinity 2 and a game site hadn't had something about both of them on the same page. Read the review and it sounded like just the thing. And it was!

I started with Dragon Age: Origins. I liked that so much I tried Kotor and really enjoyed it. Then I tried ME1, and didn't enjoy it enough to finish it. Hate having a voiced protagonist and the dialogue wheel. Currently playing Baldur's Gate. Not enough character interaction there for me, but I've heard the Baldur's gate 2 is where that really get's good.
It is. TBH I haven't replayed BG in a long time, mainly becaus BG2 was such an all-round masterpiece it was hard to go back.
