My first bioware game was Mass Effect. Then i played dragon age and Mass Effect 2. I recently bought Jade Empire and will probably end up buying KOTOR soon.

Mass Effect. I saw the launch trailer online and immediately went out and bought an Xbox 360.

Wait, didn't Jade Empire come after BG2?

Does that mean the fanboys are coming after you?

Because I once used BG2 and nostalgia in the same phrase and it took precisely 17 seconds for the bounty hunters to blow my home.

In regards to the thread, since BG1/BG2 (played it a few months prior to DA:O coming out)

First Bioware game: Neverwinter Nights

Year: 2002

Why you started playing it:  D&D and Forgottten Realm rules, Toolset and create your own adventure campaign. I prefer first person view and sandbox RPG like TES: Arena or Daggerfall at that time, but NW's party based interaction was exceptional and revolutionary.

Bioware forum join date: 16 January 2011. Never intent to join in the first place, until my grave concern with Mass Effecting Dragon Age 2. Dragon Age franchise is the only ( and probably the last ) Bioware title that I still like to play. Not expecting very much now but hopefully, DA2 is still good enough to maintain my interest with future DA titles.

Edit: Oops! Sorry about the Blue Font. I didn't realize background color is gray.

It's still available, you know. I downloaded it from GOG a couple of weeks ago.

Sacred_Fantasy, that blue font is unreadable on my monitor, probably on some other people's, too.

Nice.  Does it run on newer systems??  Or do you have to fiddle with it?

Currently playing Baldur's Gate. Not enough character interaction there for me, but I've heard the Baldur's gate 2 is where that really gets good.

If you already have BG2, then (perhaps after giving pure BG1 a whole runthrough) you should download the BGTutu ("to two") mod (which imports the game into BG2's better engine) so you can install the BG1 NPC project.  There still won't be as much character interaction as DAO, but some of the writing quality really pleasantly surprised me.

Nope, works like a charm. They have quite a few old games for sale for cheap and ready to run on new systems:

Back when they were still Black Isle, I think 1996-ish for Bauldur's Gate 1.

I'll do that! I plan on getting BG2 after I finish BG1. Maybe I'll do it sooner.

BG 1 -> BG:TotSC -> BG 2 -> BG 2: ToB -> NWN -> NWN: SoU -> NWN: HotU -> KotOR -> JE

The thing is, I first played Planescape: Torment, BG 2, and Deus Ex in the same three month period.

First Bioware game was Dragon Age: Origins, in 2009. I first heard of it on Deviant Art after seeing a picture of Morrigan, and thought: "Hmm...this game looks good. I'll give it a shot." It was a month before its release, so I had time to research and become properly excited. :D

I honestly don't remember. But the first game I picked up was the original Mass Effect and I loved it. The rest is history.
