Knights of The Old Republic, because I was getting off Diablo 2 and need a new rpg fix. (Also I really like Star Wars)
Since then been hooked, anything BioWare makes I'll play (and of course love) no matter what folks say about it. No other developer tells epic storys like these guys.
When did you start playing Bioware games?

First Bioware game: Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic
Year: 2003
Why you started playing it: Saw it in a store, i was a big Star Wars Fan (it was also my first RPG). I was only 10 at the time, so i didnt even know what studio had made it. A few years later i realized several of my favorite games were from Bioware, so i started buying all the ones i hadnt played. Now i have them all
Bioware forum join date: Dont think i was ever on the forums until Dragon Age, and we switched to this one briefly after. I only really started using forums 2 years ago.

Baldur's Gate 2 in 2007. My brother's friend gave me his account for some kind of website that lets you play really old games for a monthly fee - I forget which website now, but I tried out BG2 due to my love for RPGs and fell in love. The website version was buggy as all get out, so when I saw that Shadows of Amn + Throne of Bhaal were on Amazon for $15, I bought it. And the rest is history.

Baldur's Gate. Played it to DEATH in early university. Quite possibly the reason I absent failed Performance Studies. I mean, come on - go to a drama class or try to beat that stupid fracken last battle ONE MORE TIME??? It's a no brainer.

Mass Effect, then I realized that Bioware was awesome and I played the rest of their titles retroactively

August, 1999.
BG + TotSC. I admit I never played BG without the expansion installed, so I never saw the slower projectile speeds.

The year was 2003. I was but a mere Star Wars fan from a young age.
One day when I was at school, a friend came by and said that he was in love with a new SW game and he gave the CD to me. It had a great new story, he mentioned.
I said, sure, why not.
Later that night...
I became a BioWare fan

Ever since KotOR I've been hooked to BioWare, though I've skipped BG & NWN serires as I've got enough games on my plate!

Mass Effect.
Bought on Boxing Day 2008. I was looking for something else and noticed ME was on sale. I had heard good things about it so I decided to pick it up.

First Bioware game: Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition
Year: 2010
Why you started playing it: Wanted something to test out the new laptop combined with WoW burnout, very tempted to go back and pick up BG now based on what everyone else is saying.

KOTOR, and played every game before and since.
Jade Empire I loved; but it's the b-movie sort of love. Still love however.
Depending on my mood, I rotate between the Mass Effect series and Dragon Age Origins being my favorite series. Depends on if i'm into sci-fi or fantasy more at the time. Honestly, DA2 is potentially my dream game. A splice of the best features of ME/2 and DA:O.

My first BioWare game was Neverwinter Nights. I fell in love with it afterwards and played every single game you guys released (except for Jade Empire) and I loved em!

baldur's gate, though my first few times through i was probably too young to really grasp everything. I probably didn't really appreciate it till i went back to play it and bg2 after KotOR reawakened me to games that weren't zelda, mario kart, or goldeneye.

2008 or 2009.
Star War KOTOR, after SW KOTOR 2.
But then I though it was made my Lucas Arts, not Bioware and Obsidian.
In April of 2010 I got Mass Effect 1 and 2 since I finally got PC that can run them( max graphics too). My love for Bioware started then.

First Bioware Game: Baldur's Gate
Year: 1998 or 1999
Why I bought it: I used to like watching my dad play The Bard's Tale when I was younger, so my Dad bought it for me. We saw it in one of the old computer game stores and I thought it looked fun since it had that fantasy element going for it.

I played BG and then BG2 and loved them both. After that I stopped playing games for a long time due to work, school, and lack of a gaming computer and free time.
Then about five years ago I got back into gaming. My bf suggested 2 years ago that I pick KOTOR, After I learned it was made by Bioware, the same people who made the first RPG I played and fell in love with, I decided to give it try. so we found it for Windows (he plays on Xbox) and of course I loved it. Then last April, when my old computer died (after doing a 30 page research paper for grad school), my dad suggested again that I try DAO. He was playing it and liked it. I was replaying Oblivion at the time, but the allure of a shiny new game to go with my new computer was too much to resist. So I figured, why not? And DAO was amazing. I loved it.It's probably my most favorite game. So then I joined the forums.. The forums and my bf recommendations then led me to play Mass Effect which of course meant that I had to get Mass Effect 2. And now I'm playing Jade Empire while waiting for DA2 to come out. And that is how I became a Bioware fangirl:wub:
Edit: Thinking about it, the only Bioware series I haven't really played is the Neverwinter Night series because it came out during my hiatus from gaming. Is it worth picking up?

For me it was Bg2 a friend in school nagged at me for a very long time to get Bg2,
But after a while I did as he said and bougth the game,
at that time I had no idea what an elf was (I thougth it was the same thing as that small thing with wings in Peter Pan).
But after my friend thougth me some "BGII for dummies" I was hooked....

April 2010 = visiting my boyfriend and played DA:O and ME2 on xbox and fell in love
July 2010 = got a better laptop and bought DA:O for PC (and registered on the forums)
July 2010 - Present = bought ME, ME2, Jade Empire, KOTOR, NWN2 (sadly unfinished) for PC
So I'm a recent convert but boy did I fall bad. I've been following DA2 ever since I finished DA:O (so since it was announced I guess) I can't wait! First Bioware game I'm going to see the release of (and have pre-ordered).

First Bioware game: Baldur's Gate
Year: 1999
Why you started playing it: The box looked cool (seriously) and I needed a break from EverQuest (I never went back)
Bioware forum join date: I have no earthly idea. I've never been a very social individual.

First Bioware game: KotoR. was a PS2/PS1 player before. bought an XBox to play KotoR. Still love that game.
Year: whenever KotoR came out..
Why you started playing it: had finished a run of FF X and was looking for another good game. asked around and KotoR got a lot of good feedback from my friends. Not really a SW fan (not at all actually) but heard that it's hella fun even for non SW people. Never looked back since.
Bioware forum join date: hm.. sometime 2009... June? July? something like that. DA:O time
