Pouch of Coins - A Pouch of Coins - Stored away by a Fereldan refugee as she fled the Blight, this small sack contains her savings for the trip to Kirkwall, the city across the sea. It's new owners will surely be enriched by the money within. (Gives money when examined.)
Really, Bioware, was the above *that* difficult to come up with?
While I think being creative with the DLC consumables should be Bioware's lowest priority, this was amusing.

in what universe did Bioshock fail?
By the mid way point of the game it had lost all form of horror and became an exercise in facerolling.
I'd call that a failure.
some peple are just impossibley hard to please I guess.
So I guess the third game coming out is a continuation of this failure?

1530s, "secret, not divulged," from L. occultus "hidden, concealed, secret," pp. of occulere "cover over, conceal," from ob "over" + a verb related to celare "to hide," from PIE base *kel- (see cell).Meaning "not apprehended by the mind, beyond the range of
understanding" is from 1540s. The association with the supernatural
sciences (magic, alchemy, astrology, etc.) dates from 1630s.[b]

I would love to see a dissertation on Bioware and Occult symbolism. Hopefully we won't start any Bioware turns your children into a Heathen Blood Mage uproars though. http://www.etymonlin...hp?term=heathen
Back on topic: Do any of these reactions surprise any one? It's not like a lot of these people aren't going to end up buying the game at some point.

I can read the text in ME2 fine enough, at least I don't have to push my nose up to the screen when I play. Maybe it's related to having played the PC version that I can predict the text better or something? All I know is, I can barely read the text in DA2 demo and especially not the info-bits in the loading screen, if that's the same way retail will be then I can't justify buying.DrunkDeadman wrote...
I'm not sure what's the deal with the text in DA2. ME2 text was extremely small on my screen, but DA2 is still very much readable, if slightly smaller than DA:O's.
Therefor we're simply asking for a very simple response, either "Yes, the demo is representative of the retail version" or "No, we have modified the retail versions text"
Unfortunatly Bioware's response seems to be to ignore it all together, which one can only assume is because they assume/hope we will buy it anyway on the chance that it's fixed even though ignoring strongly suggest that the answer is "Yes, the text will be that small."

I haven't looked into it at all but from what little I saw it doesn't seem to be a horror game so... yes, absolutely.
I edited my post but it seems you missed it.
Bioshock failed at being a spiritual successor to System Shock 2 because by the mid way point the game was no longer scary. Now considering System shock 2 is widely considered to be one of, if not the most scariest game of all time, I'd say that'd a bit of an issue.
Bioshock started out fantastic. Alone down in Rapture, no clue whats coming, you got notihng but a wrench and out of nowhere someone charges you with a knife. The villain was even comparable to SHODAN in a way. But it all fell apart.

But if you take that away the only thing left on the internet would be naughty pictures! (and possibly zombies)
On topic: Someone with a complaint is wayyyy more likely to voice it than someone who's happy with something (unless they're hugely happy with it) and the internet's the perfect medium for complaining. There's likely a lot of valid points out there but they're being buried under the overly dramatic 'I hope you go out of business' type comments.

It's usually a good idea to head into these things with the understanding that those who feel negatively tend to be more likely to post in forums and reply to articles about these sorts of things than those who were either positive or neutral. Does that mean that we don't take any of this into consideration? No, of course not - there are always valid and useful criticisms to take into consideration.
'Thanks for ruining RPGs', however, is rarely a valid or useful criticism.
Well, you'll have to admit you're focussing more and more on pleasing a more casual crowd with your games nowadays, which I understand as you're part of EA Games (which don't care about fans, just about how much money they make).
Mass Effect 2 is a great example of this. Technically and story wise it was very good, and you improved a lot of things too, but you left out really important parts from Mass Effect 1. Namely the feeling of freedom (all areas felt really small, and way too structured), and doing stuff for friends started feeling like a chore although I am unable to explain why at the moment (been a while since I played ME2, got bored with it quickly, and it's 9:28 in the bloody morning).
I also strongly felt there was a lot less to do, and with this I don't necessarily mean big things, but also small things you could randomly discover.
I'm really afraid you did the same thing with DA2, but we'll see.
One thing you will HAVE to change for your next game however, is the amount of DLC. Huge DLC packs after release are great. Dozens of DLC being so small as being only one item, even before release, is not okay. Hardly anyone is able to tell exactly how many DLC 'packs' there currently are for DA2, it's insane.
Stop giving us the feeling of buying an incomplete game.

Not only is "scary" subjective, but the definition of the word seems to vary rapidly from person to person. I didn't find anything Bioshock to be scary, myself. Creeping around rapture with a wrench and suddenly having a splicer leaping at you is what I call surprising. It's not actually scary, just unexpected. Yet I've known people who argue that those terms can mean the exact same thing.

It's surprising, but it's surprising in the same sense a screamer is. I remember playing Bioshock at like 1am, with all th lights off and slowly creeping my way around, and then suddenly hearing one of them, instantly making me paranoid expecting to be attacked from somewhere. There are different kinds of "scary". Bioshock nailed most of them I felt... untill you started getting the injection things.
The atmosphere of Rapture worked perfectly, and the monsters were great too in adding to that creepy atmosphere.

Subjective, i find the WoW forums are quite a bit worse and these can definitely be rather bad as well. This SQUEE phenomenon is.. well.. terrible, unless the guys at rpgcodex are making fun of it; then its awesome.
Its also hilarious how other forums identify these as the scary place where people go and "squee" over romancing an elf.

Let me get this straight...Biowares old fans are somehow "freaks" for wanting a true spiritual successor to the greatest RPG of all time (besides Planescape: Torment). Did I get that right?
Sadly, I think it is right. Bioware decided all the un-BG2 criticisms of Neverwinter Nights was too overwhelming and ditched the PC platfform for the next 5 years.
Everything since 2004 has been a console-port, save for Dragon Age Origins.
