88 seems waaay too high considering what flaws he pointed out.

If only BW put as much effort into the games as in their marketing.

The 'suicide mission' sounds interesting though.

Is it? Maybe the flaws are just not that huge, and the good sides make up for it?

Every real RPG which takes only like 10-15 hours should automaticly not go over 80%

We have several reviews. One of them says 24 - 30 hours for everything (so 12 - 15 hours for the main campaign) and another says 50 hours.

So, let's take the 24 - 30 hours hour for everything review as being gospel and let's totally ignore the other review. Also ignore that a dev has said he took around the same time as Origins and let's also ignore that Origins can reportedly be finished in 12 - 15 hours. And let's also ignore that playtime is subjective.

God, I love people.

Good day.

DA:O has flaws too people but i dont see people pointing them out.

Because, as a sequel, DA2 is supposed to expand on what made Origins great while at the same time smoothing over Origins' many, many flaws.

BioWare taking a game in a completely different direction--for a sequel, not a spin-off--to the point where it becomes a totally different genre is what pissed off people about ME2.

Honestly, though, there'll be no one to blame but BioWare in all this if the game turns out awful.  Or even mediocre.

You can't manage your parties equipment? What the !@#$?
This can hardly be called an RPG. They've removed so much of what constitutes an RPG that it is now more action game with talent points than anything.

This game becomes worse with each day that passes.

Since when did loot = rpg?

Not saying I don't love loot but this seems like a week reason to not call a game an rpg.

Peter Thomas said he was able to near-fully invest in two skill trees and two specializations, so I'm wary of anyone saying there's limited class development.

He didn't say "near fully".

Yup, rpg means "Role Playing Game" not "Loot Things And Manage Team Equipement". Especially true when consider that rpgs can be solo games like The Elders Scrolls or The Witcher (when you do not have companions to manage).

Btw, both german reviews discussed on this boards (Gamestar & PC Games) mention the end. Gamestar has "open ended" as one of their negative remarks in the story section of their score.

Additionally Dragon Age 2 lacks a strong atmosphere (concerning the level and map-design).

Now what I find curious is that - the points that are criticised by the editors about Dragon Age 2 sound to me like the mass-effect-syndrome. Yet Mass Effect 2 had received the "Editors Choice Award"
Maybe because the leveldesign isnt that bad in Mass Effect 2. (my guess)

Mass Effect 2 == Atmosphere.  This was why it was such a great game, despite the abhorant amount of streamlining.  I haven't played an RPG that felt so dark and gritty since Torment.

Well, the open-ended aspect was expected. They're aiming for a DLC based business model, so I am not even a bit surprised at the potential presence of cliffhangers. I'll even go further and say I PREFER it this way, so that I can enjoy POST ending DLC, instead of loading a previous save just to access the stuff I just bought, being forced to replay sections.

Not terribly surprising. Think I'll wait until the price comes down for this. I prefer PC games which were made for PC first. Not for console and PC as an afterthought.
