And to answer the original topic, desire spirits can talk a multitude of forms: busty purple women with horns, gay blacksmiths, and Varric are just a few.

Did you know that desire spirits are supposed to be hermaphrodites? They're obviously feminine in form but the large horns are there to suggest more masculine parts.
Did you know that desire spirits are one of the fewest of the various spirit types but the one most often to be found in the mortal realm? It's because they're so friendly and outgoing.
Many people worry that desire spirits will devour your soul. Yes, they *can* but that doesn't mean they *will.* This is why they bond with mages, both of them are prejudged by their abilities and not their actions.

Well, MorningBird made this banner. The one I made wasn't animated, so I felt inadequate. I don't know why Fenris gets all-caps. I think she has a girl-crush on him.
