I've cleared the cache, deleted and reinstalled the demo numerous times, have tried most tricks that worked for the old 360 freezing problems, but yet the demo still freezes after a couple of minutes of gameplay.

To clarify before someone says it's a hardware issue (My 360 works fine it plays every other game and demo without any problems, it even plays ME, ME2, and DA:O and DA:A with no problems what so ever) so I fail to see how it would be a hardware issue when everything else works perfect and nothing else freezes. HDD isn't corrupt nor is the cache as I've formatted and cleared them and still the same problem with the game allowing me to kill at least 1 wave or so of darkspawn during the "legend" portion what Varric tells Cassandra.

While I don't want to end up canceling my 2 pre-orders of the game as it's the CE edition (1 for myself and 1 for my cousin), but I may end up having to if the retail version of the game is going to give me the same problems.

Seriously page 2 already? Console threads are getting shafted by numerous PC threads of the same topic and yet they still haven't learned how to look at all the similar threads.



This is an issue that quite a few of 360 owners are experiencing and have recieved no answer to because of all the similar pc problem threads that keep pushing anything relating to the console ones out of view.

Are you talking about the demo freezing up or the download? My download of the demo keeps freezing and stalling on the 360. PC demo downloaded just fine and runs fine after the DirectX fix.

the demo itself is freezing up I can play it for about a good minute or two and deal with the first wave of darkspawn and then it just freezes up. Occassionally it'll freeze during the cutscene or even during the transition from Varric telling the story and switch over to Hawke and Bethany.

Yeah, I have the same problem with my 360 too.

yeah from what I've seen on a few other forums other people have as well and it's on varying models of the system too. Some just recently bought so they are completely brand new and still have the freezing issue. It's just starting to get a bit frustrating is all (I downloaded the demo and can play it fine on my ps3, but that does little good when the 360 is the system I am preordering it for and have the original DA and it's expansion on).

I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for an official fix or responce for a demo. I would be more concerned if the full gamewas causing issues.

Yes, but still you know, a little statement like - "Yes we are aware of this problem and are very sorry about that, but we can guarantee for sure that there wont be any freezing problems in the retail version! In the meantime, we only can ask you to play and enjoy the demo on the PS3 and are hoping that you dont cancel your preorder : ))" - wouldnt hurt, right?

Is that too much asking for considering that this customer paid Bioware over 100 USD or what currency he was paying in?

I guess if it was a confirmed issue and bug. Since its all the same code on the Xbox, it would be an issue that should happen to everyone on that system. If only a small percentage are experiencing it, it might be something else causing the lockups.

Here ya go, duplicated this issue quite easily, all I had to do was block fan vents. If your x-box is in a cabinet or something (not open air of the room), I'd suggest pulling it out, better for the machine anyway. If that doesn't work, you may want to open 'er up and see if she needs a vacuuming. Happens with PCs, desktops and laptops, all of the time. You'd be amazed at what a little cleaning will do. If you're too tech-phobic, you might want to try vacuuming through the vents, reversing and blowing out, and then vacuuming again. If it's an older 360, they're known for overheating and shutting down or locking up. More than a couple of years old?

where is it downloaded for xbox?

System is only about a year old and I keep it in a well ventilated and opened spot. The demo for all intents and purposes doesn't seem all that graphics heavy as I can play the system for a good 6-7 hours straight with no problem what so ever on any other game I have.

Do you have all of the latest updates through XBox Live? Sounds silly to some, I know, but some people do run their systems unconnected (no WiFi, no Lan).

Yeah it's wired directly into the router and whenever I get on Live I always get any updates that it says are available. So my system is connected 24/7 pretty much. Don't leave the console on 24/7.

Oh, it possed the stupid krogan version of my post, but the actual real one I typed seven times it kept logging me out instead of posting. I'm starting to hate EA/bioware.

I am having the same issue using Opera 11. Internet Explorer 9 seems to work fine (for the most part anyway)...

On topic - no problems here (Opus? 2008 - 08 -10), finished the demo multiple timed and everythings fine...

edit: I had the demo paused for few hours and after some 20-30 minutes of gameplay it has frozen during the last part of the demo (2nd group of enemies in the streets)
It was the first time I used PAL 50 - no idea if there is any coincidence..

That's a browser problem most likely, and even if it wasn't, it would be the forum's problem. Not BioWare or EA's.
The Xbox 360 version of the demo is working perfect for me.

I have the 360 slim and kinect and have not had game freezing just character freezing. Its like the game has damage queued up so you have to stand there and take it instead of being able to dodge.

If the nice folks at bioware included a transfer old choices from DA:O/DA:A to server then choose another system option I would happily switch my game from Xbox to something else. They didn't so I'll tough it out. Considering posting this demo freeze up to microsoft today. Let MR. Gates yell at bioware for a will to see if that fixes the problem.

It's also happening to me but it crashes a bit after you meet that templer guy. I've actually tried playing it offline got to see the 2nd part of the demo but crashes again haven't been able to do it again, but just wandering does it matter what 360 model you have cause I have the old model
