There is a decent chance the guys just a troll, but he has just the right amount of actual knowledge about Dragon Age lore to make it seem believable  If true, the entire story is basically revealed. Again, I DOUBT its true. It sounds kinda like an idealised version of DA:2 coming from someone who is on these forums and knows enough about DA:2 to make it seem believable.

This is exactly what I'm thinking...plus he seems to have read the codex entries for the black city, and it makes sense. Blast and Damnation.

We don't know the role of the Templars or the Chantry in the story, I could see it fitting.  In any case if he is a troll, and given the source it seems likely enough, he's certainly spun a damn interesting tale.
