I'm glad they didn't feature some US city. In EVERY single game it's always the goddamn US of A that are under attack and seem to be the only country that matters.

I'm still waiting for Berlin to be featured in a game as something else then "ze *insert-abbreviation-for-followers-of-the-bad-Austrian-guy-that-is-responsible-for-55.000.000-dead-people* HQ". We did rebuild the place after WW2, you know, it looks really nice again.

they'll need a secure base of operations...

Why would you need an island for a base when you have giant spaceships?

As big as Reapers are, they can't do what they want to do without a suitable space station or base.
Also, building a suitable space station would take longer than a ground base since materials would have to be ferried up constantly, not to mention that a weird looking space station would be a prime target for liberation forces instead of a well-hidden ground base

And to the person who said why not Australia, Austrailia is a much bigger place and therefore harder to secure.
