If you don`t like DA2 combat, you didn`t like Origins.

I would agree that DA2's combat is just Origins' combat sped up and flashier.

I like DA:O gameplay, I don't really care for DA2 gameplay, what now? I defy your logic

Even if they're just harmless koalas, I don't see any reason to poke the bears like this.
This forum needs some positive threads, every other thread is about obessing over one of the companions or hating on the game somehow.

Im loving the combat in DA2 from the demo so far, and looking at the talent trees it just gets better.

It's not a game-breaker, just a niggle.

Agreed, but in my experience, threads like this always turn into flame wars. It's safer to just stick to speculation threads.

It's about the tactics. One of things that was removed (according to the developers it's an improvement, according to my personal taste, it isn't) is the distance and positioning as a combat element.
Now I can just rush in and take down the mage. Then sprint to the other one in 2 seconds and take him down too. Etc.
In DA:O, I liked the fact that you had to think about distances too. To take a simple scenario: When there are three mages and some other foes on higher difficulty, you had to disable all the mages because your templar needed time to get there and actually beat the hell out of them. Meanwhile you had to take care of the foes who would delay that given templar, by luring them away with your archer for example. Luring them in a clever trap for example.
You also had to position your rogue behind the back of the enemy, which is in the basic handbook since I've met AD'n'D. Etc.
I get it, a lot of people found it boring. And of course you can play DA:O like DA2 plays out: rushing in and improvising.
You can also set clever traps, pop up your rogue and lure the enemy in. You also had to think of distances. I don't feel the latter here.
Maybe on higher difficulties it will change, haven't got a chance to try that.
But as for the moment, I say the combat is changed, it's not the same.
Not that I hate DA2 (although the rogue animations and cartoonish warrior moves are not for my taste), but I liked DA:O's combat better.
Not because it was slower, but because it had more tactical depth. I find it familiar but different.

What logic do you need?
I like DA:O combat because it appealed to me
I don't really care for DA2 combat because it doesn't appeal to me

The only difference is the visuals, you do the same thing to fight as you did in Origins. This time around though everyone does crazy jumps and spins instead of auto attacking like in Origins, I`m fine with this but a lot of people are acting like this ruined the combat when it didn`t really change how you play at all. Sure it plays a lot faster, but that makes the game harder (which imo it needed to be) and if you can`t keep up pause the game and keep track of what`s going on. Though, what I don`t like is that they took away the birds eye view camera but I`ll get over it in less than an hour of playing the game, and so will you.
You read stuff like this and then you see why they are Biowares new audience.
1. Faster combat plus easy combat means no need for tactics.
2. No friend fire means that you can do things in DA2 that would downright stupid in DA.
If you find DA2 harder it's because the combat has gone from RPG combat (based on stats) to "twitch" combat, based on the reflexes of the player. It took a few minutes to adapt , but compared to DA it's so laughably easy it's sad.
