I'm running through a second playthrough via pc and I can't remember for the life of me what I did when I did this on the 360.

Have to gather the crew and become a spectre before you have high enough charm/intimidate to talk the General into stopping the rumors. Which means shooting up the bar to rescue Tali and coming back later right?

I'm after the trinket and renagade results.

Yes, I think so. You should have no problem. Septimus will be there after the assault in the bar.

There's one more step thaty Septimus gives you, to get the trinket. remember to do that before talking to the consort.

I think its either the trinket OR "renegade results"(interesting way to describe THAT)

if I remember right you can get both, but you have to talk to the Elcor Diplomat before the Consort and after she gives you the trinket and advice ask "is that all?"
