First time I ever played through the game I killed the Queen. Then when I wen to a Paragon play through I let her live. In my main play through the Queen is alive. I was unsure at first but it becomes abundantly clear that the Queen was speaking the truth with the message she sends you on Ilium through the Asari. Only ME3 will tell us what truly is going to happen.

I tried to do a Renegade playthrough and even then did not have the stomach to kill the poor thing. If I'd never talked to it, I probably would have. But hearing it ask for mercy changes everything.

on my very first before i cared hell even knew about renegade or paragon choices i thought it was unfair to put a race to extinction when it can live on with the chance of peace so i saved the queen and on my main playthroutgh i saved her its the right thing to do

i've always saved the queen on all my playthroughs. tbh, almost all the playthroughs i have logged, i don't have a single renegade point. after meeting with the asari on illium in me2, it just further reinforced the notion that saving the queen was the right thing to do. add to that, the possibility of assistance from the rachni in me3 against the reaper invasion, my canon shep will take all the help he can get, regardless of the source.

I just can't bear the look of pure evil on Shepard's face when he kills the queen.

Killing her is genocide! So no.
If you save her you'll learn in Mass Effect 2 that the Rachni were forced into war by the Reapers.

I kill her... I take this decision and try to put myself in my Shepards shoes... ok, I know the Rachii attacked the citadel races, I know there incredibly dangerous thanks to fighting them... it reanimates a corpse to talk to me...

how can a responsible shepard NOT kill her? If I had the option to take her into custody id consider it... but since its between killing it and letting it go free with no supervision... The only responsible thing you can do is kill it. THen I ask myself... "what would Johnny Rico do?" right before I give the evil **** an acid bath! Also Liara says to spare it... and if the incredibly naive asari thinks I should spare it that just shows it needs to die

that and talking to the turian counsel about genocides hilarious

I finally ditched my one paragon playthrough of ME1 for a completely custom renegade one. I meant to kill her for the sake of being renegade, but i feel like letting her live is going to be a huge help in me3... I just wanted to see what would happen in me3 if i did end her... but... i just cant do it

I usually release the queen, but from a roleplaying perspective I would have to kill her (ignoring metagaming).

1. The rachni are an incredibly dangerous species
2. You don't know if the queen is telling you the truth or if she is just trying to save her ass

You have a chance to gain the personal loyalty of a whole race. It is more than worth the risk of a few dead people.

I've played through only twice and did on my 1st Renegade Shep and didn't on my 2nd Paragon Shep. I'm really interested to see how each decision plays out in ME3.

Spared the Queen due to one nagging thought: Why didn't she use that Asari commando to escape? Shepard's back was turned, the teammates were too far away to realize what was going on. Only a few seconds, a few buttons pushed and negotiation would never have been needed. Deliberately wasting that chance to make contact with a species far more likely to kill you if memories inherited by your ancestors is any indication demanded an ear to their story.

Sarah gave the queen an acid bath. Her logic: I've just fought through hundreds of the monsters and the queen is a prisoner faced with her own extinction. She'd tell me the minor-league baseball scores if it helped her escape, and the rachni damn near destroyed the galaxy long ago. Bye-bye.

Logic of my 3 or 4 other characters: you were indoctrinated back then? Hmmm. Alright then, get out of here.

Considering the mostly-dead asari could barely stand up I doubt it would have been possible to use her to manipulate the controls to the cage - assuming the queen even knew which buttons to push.

Never killed the Rachni queen. I'd feel like Adolf Hitler.

After ME2 in pretty happy about what I did with the Rachni Queen back on Noveria. Even if that mean I will get attack by Rachni Husk in ME3 >.<

I just checked the cut scene, and Shep detects the asari before she can reach the controls.

I'm doing another ME1 playthrough right now and I really have trouble deciding ... Wrex says that millions of krogans died fighting the rachni.

I didn't kill her. I like the idea of having some big bug allies.

My paragon shep spared her. My renegade, who is going for body count and bruised jaws, will not.

Looked more like Shepard only found out because the Commander was startled into backpedaling into the Asari. The Asari was deliberately dragged towards Shepard while the Queen deliberately reared at the Commander
