In the game, it means a 10% chance to resist hostile spells, but what about the lore. Morrigan and others mention that dwarves have some resistance to magic but what does it mean lore-wise? Are dwarves not supposed to be hurt by magic or does it just hurt them less?

It hurts them less, just like in most every other fantasy rpg made.

I've always wanted an rpg where your mage kinda had a mage vision, allowing them to see how infused people/items are. If you've read some of the lore of warhammer, they describe magic as being kinda like a visible "wind" that the mages draw in. While magic resistant things repel it, creating void areas of magic around it.

They've evolved close to lyrium deposits, which has given them a resistance to the effects of magic, and has cut their minds from access to the Fade.
