I agree with you. AC1 was booooring. AC2 was one of the best games I have ever played. AC3 is the continuation, which is good.

Meh, I quit AC2 halfway through once I realized I had absolutely no idea why I was killing all these people. Not that I hadn't been paying attention, it's just the story was so convoluted and overall 'meh' that I had no interest in it anymore.

But the thread's getting a bit derailed. My biggest concern is how in the heck they're going to bring in all the different choices we've made over the past two games into this one. I want the stuff I did to matter beyond just email messages, and that's a TON of variables for BW to keep track of. No idea how they're going to do it.

unavoidable scripted deaths.
multiplayer.
too much reliance on vehicle combat.
previously met characters/squad mates relegated to cameos, bonus points when they are e-mail cameo's only (I kept trying to figure out a way to visit Shai'ra and Dr. Michel on my first play through since they sent me e-mails and I wanted to go say hey, yeah, I'm alive, thank you for thinking of me - only to realize with sadness that I couldn't :/ )
No chance of happy ending with LI

hanging out on the forums alternately makes me hopeful and fills me with dread. But I need to know.

Somehow, I completely forgot about the most important one.

If Shepard has a required death, that's the one thing that would make me never play through the end of ME3. I would still buy ME3, and probably enjoy it too, but I would never play the ending.

if you mean "and they lived happily ever after" for shepard, I'm hoping that its an option just not the only option.  if you are hoping its not an option at all - then umm...poor Bioware.  some of us really would love to give our Shepards a bit of lasting happiness you know, don't you think they earned it?

paragon=/=win - there are plenty renegade decisions that make your playtime smoother, and plenty paragon decisions that end up backfiring.  both paths have their own benefits and drawbacks.

Agreed. I spent way too much time planning out my Shepards to kill them off.
