-"you must save the module to update its campaign information, and reopen it to use any new resource bindings as a result of the campaign change-"

This is the message I keep on receiving each time I try and 'Set Module to use selected Campaign' (in the campaign plugin).

I have built my module so far saving it as a directory, as I read this is the smart thing to do. Haven't had another crash since I have being doing it, too. Which is ace.
Anyway, so I followed the steps I found on another webpage (btw I did this once about 2 years ago, without any problems) but for some reason I keep getting the above error message this time. No idea why.
From what it tells me, I have already saved my campaign folder (labeled - basemodule) into a .mod file.
i.e - basemodule.mod.

I'm sure I have missed something simple...:wizard:

Looks to me like it's informing you it did the job, now you have to save, close and then reopen the module. Is it not yet showing up as part of the campaign?

Oh, I didnt think to check and see if it worked. Thanks Dunnite.
It does work now. Just another quick query. So in future if I open my module via the campaign folder, can I just continue to work in it through that and not worry about saving to a .mod file each time I want to test the mod?

Ok the above question is a bit vague.
This one might be more what I'd prefere answered.

Before I made my module/campaign folder into a campaign. I used to backup my folder every couple of hours when working on the module. just to be safe.
Now I am not sure what I should be backing up each time.
Do I have to backup the Campaign folder in the nwn2/mydocs section as well as my .mod and campaign folder? (these two are in my modules folder)
Or can I just backup one of these?

A campaign consists of a campaign folder containing resources available to all campaign modules and modules(s). The modules are in the modules folder and may be folders or .mod files depending on whether you save as folders or not when you use the toolset. If you create campaign scripts or conversations they are saved automatically in the campaign folder when you edit them. If you edit module resources or blueprints you should save before exiting the toolset. Keep backups of both the campaign folder and the modules themselves.

I don't know what you Jean by your campaign folder being in your modules folder. The campaign folders are lays stored in the campaigns folder. Modules are stored in the modules folder.

Oh right, typo. I meant directory folder, which is in my module folder. I usually just copy and paste that every few hours or so.

Thanks for clearing that up though Kaldor. That does help which is good.
So basically, .mod or directory folder are prety much the same thing, its just a matter of preference...once the campaign has being set up that is.

Right. Once you associate a module (however it's saved) to a Campaign, it essentially is tied to it until you disassociate it. You can continue to work in the mod and save as before, you just have to now keep an eye on where and what you're using for module specific resources or campaign level resources. Campaign level resources can be used to 'tie' all the modules together, but module level resources will only work in that module.

Also remember that a module is composed of more than one Module Area, so there are filtering down and unique to Area, Module and Campaign events that can be done in this manner. Anything you have in an Area or Module that conflicts with Campaign resources can cause issues, so always be clear on conversations, scripts and systems for your work once associating them with a Campaign.

I only wish the Developers had provided more clear and detailed instructions (and warnings) as to the differences between single Module production, versus Campaign (where multiple Modules are "stitched" together to form a larger whole) Production.
You'll be asking more questions over time and there are folks here who can definitely help. So no worries in the long run.
