A new site build has just been deployed that affects the forums functionality.  The following changes have been made to forum posts and signatures:
  • HTML tags will no longer work, you must use supported BBCode.
  • Double newline issue fixed in quick reply form.
  • Backslashes will no longer become double backslashes.
  • BBCode exploit fixed.

Any chance that this build will fix the phantom screenshots issue? <3

No, this is only forum changes and security fixes. The phantom screenshot issue can't be fixed through website changes.  But it's currently being worked on by another team and will likely be fixed next week.

Doesn't believe you about the double newline.
Tests it.

Edited to add: Oh my gods!

Any chances of getting HTML back, at least in some limited form? It's been really useful in formatting a topic I'm maintaining since the supported BBcode is very limited. I'm thinking just basic stuff like div, span, p and hr constructs rather than anything more advanced and open to exploitation.

Okay, i'm not sure if this is the write place to ask this ( i haven't been able to create a New Topic or find one concerning 'Polls') but here it goes...I created a 'New Poll' a little over 12 hours ago titled: "Should the Human Reaper Project be reactivated?!

Now so far, it has 35 Votes: But i have been unable to view the vote results.

It has 7 comments: but i have neither been able to view these comments or leave one myself. What the ruddy hell is going on here?!

Someone, please help me figure this out :(

Hmm, that reminds me, I also noticed something amiss when I tried a "view all comments" on someone's update earlier today and nothing happened.

Speaking of things that will likely be coming next week... Will we be getting a Dragon Age 2 theme for the website after the games release? The Dragon Age: Origins one is starting to get stale and I don't like any of the other ones -_-

Does anyone have a list of the sites supported BBCode? Since not all bbcodes work on this site.

Aha, so this was the last BSN crusade I noticed.
Well, it's a good start, needs some more working, but am sure damn glad to see you're thinking of our house (yep, addicted, I admit it).

Noticed a few changes and now I know it was you. Thank you! *killerhugs BW dev team*

Any chance of there being a Spoiler BBCode supported any time soon? The DA2 Forum is starting to feel like a scary movie where you keep your eyes half closed in order to shut them faster when needed (not that I'd ever do that ).

I see BioWare did some more changes tonight, first thing being the recent post window being closed. That's good but I wonder if they did something else too.

Why did the recent post window had to be closed? It was actually useful! Unless you guys are planning on making improvements on it, I do not approve.

There were many complaints of people I know that said there were many spoilers in the titles. Of course, I could be heavenly wrong, but methinks Spoilers in titles are against rules to begin with, but that's not the point - people get spoiled.
I think BioWare will put it back on once DA2 will get released everywhere (not only NA), meaning what, by the end of the week?

Another issue / exploit that might want to be looked into is posting after thread locking.

I've noticed in a few threads that if someone is in the process of replying to a topic, and a moderator closes the thread, the member can still post a reply if they're already inside the "Add Reply" screen.

It may not be the biggest issue, and I haven't desired to fully test the exploit, but I assume theoretically someone could still post in a closed topic hours after the locking  actualy takes place.

Just something to consider...

I'd just prefer it if you enter a link and it automatically makes it a clickable http link.

BBCode annoys me, adding [url] tags annoyed me, and most forums I visit auto link anything that fits the format of http://domain.whatever, or https://domain.whatever.
